Well it took us a month and a half to fill the last thread and the season hasn't even started yet. I reckon we'll be filling them in under a month.

The rising costs of this alleged new stadium must be impacting on our finances. the cost has doubled and i'd be surprised if it gets built now. but it's catch 22 we need a bigger stadium to compete with utd/arsenal etc but don't seem able to raise the funds needed

Well they must have sorted out something...as they had a deadline to prove they had funding.

SSN reporting that Traore has signed for Charlton, no confirmation on price yet though.
EDIT: 3 year deal for £2m!

Its very worrying, nevermind the fact that, even if we do build it, it doesnt even bring us up to the capacities of Arsenal or United. We really just need a big buyer to come in for us who has the capital to help our club reach its full potential.

I remember there were rumours about the Craft family being interested and that Parry went to a patriots game to meet them.
He said it was to see how a successful franchise is run. He didn't learn a lot then??
It's a shame nothing came of that as they have billions.

Arsenal have done it by gambling on their future fortunes. It could blow up very badly for them should the team take a downward turn. The Liverpool Board are trying to get the money together through sponsorships, naming rights and a few loans but without mortgaging our future. Unfortunately, it may be we can raise enough that way

From hence forth all slagging off of the board and R Parry must stop !!!
He must be a flipping genius to get Charlton to spend that much on Traore

That is until we learn Charlton bid £4.7M and Parry hard-balled them out to £2M

Parry would have been prosecuted for selling him for £4.7m

Here here!
Lets start a petition now!
We can sell our club out to the highest bidder!
What a great idea! Then we can be the new Chelski! Sod our tradition, our heritage, everything that made out club great!
Lets just sell out in order to compete.
I like our club because we our different. We may not be able to compete financially with Chelsea and manure, but we're doing pretty well football wise.
If the right deal comes along which will preserve everything that is great about our club and allows us to compete financially then great - but I would far rather we kept some semblance of what made us great in the first place.
Who cares if we're not spending billions, and buying players just to stop other clubs getting them? The truly great players who want to play for us still will.
Who was a better deal? SWP for 25m? Or Alonso for 12?
Who would you rather have playing for our club?
I don't want a group of mercenaries coming to us because we have the most money.
Sorry, but it just seems there's a lot of moaners around. Everyone was moaning about Houllier, now he's gone they've only got the board to moan about.
Nothing personal, it just pees me off.

Would have been good getting them. Not that I would want an Abramovich type coming in and ripping the heart out of the club, but just someone who is willing to invest money in the long term future of the club and be a lot smarter in terms of marketing etc. I think most would agree that Parry and co have missed a lot of chances to make money.

yes winning the biggest club competition in the world then not releasing a commemorative shirt until november was pure ineptitude on the board's part.must have cost us a few million that.

As I said, I wouldnt want an Abramovich type, but I feel there is a happy medium between him and the complete incompetents who run our club at the moment. If you see that as moaning, I dont really care.

I can remember some people on this thread saying the same sort of things about Murphy
Its up to £2m depending on appearances for us, trophies he helps us win ( ), & Int caps.
To be honest I think he will do quite well for us. For you he had to win you the Champions League & Prem, for us he just has to help us finish in the top half of the table.
