De Palma referenced Eisenstein in numerous interviews and articles around the time of the film's release. However, Eisenstein never - to my knowledge - made any kind of reference to how much his scene owed to D.W.Griffith.
Of course, the scene owes as much to Leone and Peckinpah as it does to Eisenstein.

I would propose the chariot race of AD1925 and that of AD1959.

In no particular order:
Fred Astaire and Eleanor Powell - tapdancing to 'Begin the Beguine' in Broadway Melody of 1940.
Gene Kelly - Singin' In The Rain.
King Kong (1933) - on top of The Empire State Building.
The French Connection - car chase.
Last five minutes of 'Halloween'.
Psycho - shower scene.

Eh, bosque? What scene? Sorry, I'm not trying to be funny, I'm just not sure what you mean -- the film is full of "that" scenes.
Do you mean the "you talkin' to me?" scene?

...but one scene is more that than the others - yes, the "you talkin to me" scene - but I agree that it wasn't clear.

With respect to Robert Shaw's speech in Jaws - next time you watch it, keep a eye on Richard Dreyfuss in the background. Fascinating to look at, and I believe some of the speech was ad lib'd...

Off the top..
The end sequence in the dance hall and the final look to camera - Les Bonnes Femmes (my favourite sequence of them all)
The shooting at the Irish ranch and the Fonda reveal - Once Upon a Time in the West
The final shoot out - Tokyo Drifter
The fWalk through the Rushes at Night - I Walked with a Zombie
The Storming of the Temple (in silence) - Ran
Kim Novak entering the hotel room as a perfect replica - Vertigo
The long walk past Joseph Cotton at the end - The Third Man
Personally, I can never remember dialogue in films but could literally name hundreds of sequences like these (which makes me pretty crap at film quizzes).

Sean Connery's (near) laser castration in Goldfinger (close call between that and Shirley Eaton's goldpainted corpse, or Connery removing a a wet suit to reveal a perfectly pressed white tuxedo beneath!)
The metamorphosis scene in An American Werewolf In London
The final, futile, run of Mel Gibson in Galipoli
Clint Eastwood, a half eaten hot dog, bank robbers, a flippin big gun and an iconic speech in Dirty Harry... feelin' lucky?
The Devil's Tower / Mothership arrival scene in Close Encounters

I am very surpised that no one has mentioned what many reviewers have long considered a masterpiece of cinematographic impact - Arnold Schwarznegger's "I'll be Back" sequence with its massacre at the Police Station in the original "The Terminator". That would certainly be high on my list.

Well, people have quoted "Ran" (1985) and "Rules of the Game" (1998). Moreover, was not the "classic-modern" cutoff 20 years before it was upgraded to 25?

I'm assuming that the poster was referring to Renoir's Rules of the Game (1939) which features a superb hunting scene and not Jorg Fockele's 'masterpiece' from 1998.
BTW apols for the off forum 'Ran' scene...but it IS brilliant.

Garry's response was, ah, rather terse, however Raigmore this forum's cut-off is for films up to 1980. Anything after that may be consigned to the living hell that is the Modern Forum...but sometimes little gems sneak through...

You are the OP! If you wanted people to mention The Terminator then you should have posted this in the 'Modern' forum or maybe even mentioned it yourself, before acting "very surprised" that people had actually followed the 'Classic' forum rules.
Besides there's already a fine thread here.
