Eleventh Hour - Patrick Stewart
Have seen quite a few trailers for this new ITV series over the weekend, still "coming soon" at the moment instead of a definate date. When it was in production it was labelled as a sci-fi series for Granada but it looks like the same old killer bug/virus on the loose we have seen countless times before
Patrick Stewart is always good value for money though, so will check it out when it airs....

I will probably watch this one, looks like it could be good fun. Stewart is usually great and the lady from Extras is in it too.

Patrick Stewart Network says it starts Jan 19th:
Quote:
Eleventh Hour Premieres on ITV in January
Patrick's new four-part thriller television series Eleventh Hour will premiere on ITV on January 19, 2005 and three successive Thursdays. Eleventh Hour is an investigative series set against a background of contemporary science. Professor Ian Hood (Stewart) is called in by the British government to tackle disasters caused by modern science. The stories are tales of suspense, races to avert disaster, and stories of individuals caught up in the unforeseen consequences of progress.

Apparently there is a scene where he's riding his bike in the park, and a woman says 'Oy! you can ride you bike on the grass' and he says 'Oh no?', then all her clothes fall off and he rides off.
On the grass.

I have two different thoughts on this, firstly that it does sound quite good and as said above Patrick Stewart is usually pretty good. The second is the fact that is on IV and ITV + Sci-fi drama don't usually go together.

But not before he's seen everything?

Let's hope it's 'number One' in the ratings.

In the Patrick Stewart interview in the latest Radio Times, he is very insistant that this programme is not Sci-Fi, he says that this was an error on the part of the press who instantly assumed because he was in it and he is associated with a major sci-fi series, then "Eleventh Hour" is sci-fi.

not a rip off off Doctor Who in Unit days, or the X Files at all.

It sounds less like sci-fi and more like 'what if...' with science going wrong. It'll be interesting to see what happens and just how boldly they go.

Sounds a bit like Regenesis (a good US show from last year); does anyone know if it's related?

Did any one see this?
What a stinker it was, like a british X files but terribly written. Both leads couldn't have been more miss-cast? I was genuinely surprised how awful it was but then i realised it was ITV, also any point to stretching an hour story at max to an hour and a half? talk about dragging it out.
What did other people think?
