Can anyone suggest a good photographer?
We are now at the stage of wanting to find a photographer for our wedding and have done some searches on the net to get some rough price guides.
Most seem to be charging around £1200 upwards for their service which to me seems a hell of a lot.
Does anyone know of a company who could better this?
We are in Surrey if that helps. CHeers

Grab the local rag and check out the photo credits next to the wedding pictures.

Talk to local friends, ask who they used. - I'd never book a photographer from an ad. Way too many part-time cowboys out there with 'qualifications'....

Ummm, a book of 'proof' style ones I think. I'm not quite sure. She's a work colleague of my mum's so we know her well. She's only been doing the press photography for a few years, but I've seen her wedding ones and they're good - nothing too flashy, just good quality There will be plenty of informal snappers there on the day - we're going to give our digital camera to my brother on the day and tell him to fill the memory card with photos

Loopy - A company in Cheam Village did ours - lovely bloke (mature not a young whippersnapper!) joined in banter with the guests about the wedding - even swopped ties with my uncle who wore a three lions tie whilst he was a Scot and had a tartan one on (England v Scotland footy on the day I was told to get married!!!)
Think they're called Brittania and if you go into to CV from Ewell (Homebase way) turn left at the crossroads and they are on your right.
Your quite welcome to sneak a peak a our pics if you want but they have a lot on show anyway. They even sold us the proofs too so we had some extras to give to family. Back in 1996 it was about £350 - so add some inflation and probably improved technology.
We liked the fact he had an assistant who could help getting the unruly ones away from the bar and into the frame.
found the website here

we had Bert to do ours!

Hmm be careful - I was once at a V V V V posh wedding and one of the rather well to do ladies (whom we didn't know from Adam!) on our table got up to go powder her nose. She left her camera on the table and well let's just say that a couple of the not-so well-to-do lads/friends of mine used it to take some impromptu close up shots of themselves!!!!
Half an hour later when we'd finished sniggering and we'd dispersed from the table I saw her heading toward the top table whereupon she gives the camera to someone who resembled HRH Queen Liz! and says "Here's your camera, I've taken a few good ones!" - turns out that the camera belongs to the groom's very hoighty toighty mother !!!!
We had to spill the beans to the grooms brother who **** himself laughing and then told the groom who was majorly ****** off - he then told his mum - who...........................laughed!!! and said "ah well, boys will be boys!"

Yep. Shes got a good portfolio she'd show you if when you meet. I just got a reply from her and she told me she'd have to talk to you first and she just asked if I could get you number (you can e-mail it to me below). She also wanted to know some more about the wedding. I don't know what else but maybe the dates and exactly where it is. Also if it's a big wedding etc.
If you can e-mail me, I'll pass it all on to her.

You're welcome loopy -
Like I said, if you want to see a few 'real' shots then I'm only in Tadworth and again you're more than welcome to come and have a look.
Where are you getting married location wise?
