Depends entirely on what you're after though. My favs are Red Dead / Mass Effect 2 / Fallout 3 / Dragon Age etc - Wii can't touch PS3 and Xbox on this.

Mario Galaxy 1 was bloody good though - I just couldn't get past the Wicontroller. At the time I bought the Wii for Mario Galaxy - just a worked out a bloody expensive game!

Yeah, sorry.

This does look good. I'd happy pay £40 for it if I could play it on my Xbox

first impressions :

i nearly burned my tea because i was so obsessed with the flip switch galaxy thing.
the game is noticeably harder early on than the first one.
he levels noticeably longer than the first one.
it's awesome.

Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 are both awesome. It's a shame the Wii doesn't really have much else that it's worth owning for, this is the first time I've turned it on in months.

Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 are reasons enough to own a Wii full stop. But Super Mario Bros. Wii, Pikmin 2, Zelda Twilight Princess, Resident Evil 4 and Tiger Woods 10 are also excellent on the Wii.

They're not the reasons I bought it (bought at launch), but they are the reasons I haven't sold it.

That took a lot longer than it should have !!! Until a mate told me to go for the last 3 'targets' first (before he speeds up).

Agree with what others have said about it being notably harder than the 1st one but still a very good experience so far

Yeah that was evil and the one time the games has really narked me. Mostly as I either can't get the logic or the timing of the spring right. Sometimes I press A and he jumps up high, sometimes he doesn't. Seemed like trial and error.

The rest has been sublime though. 100 purple coins on flip-switch galaxy took me forever but loved every minute.

I found that you had to make sure you pressed A after he touched ground, most of the time I was pressing it slightly too early. Very annoying though and unforgiving.

Been playing this all night, completed it and now starting to pick up the other stars. 78 stars down so far...

Does anybody know who's offering the best in store price for this? It's currently £37 in Tesco and generally they are quite competitive on new game prices.

Ad in metro yesterday showed Sainsbury's doing it for 34.99, or 29.99 if bought with another chart Wii game.

My 5 year old son wants this for his birthday
(and I know his eldest brother would hijack it to "show him how to play it")

I've phoned a couple of supermarkets and Asda said they are doing it for £29.71. Guess I'll be making a detour via them on the way home

My 4yr old is the same - but having seen how well he can (or rather can't) play New SMB on his DS, and how he reacts when he loses a life, I am loathe to tell him I already have it (for fear of my LCD's safety)

Mine didn't turn up from The Hut today. Tempted to go to Asda buy it there and send The Hut one back. Can't decide if it's worth the hassle seeing as I won't be able to play it until Sunday...

The time trial mini-games in this are really crap. I wanted to launch my wii-mote out the window earlier trying to do one. Not fun at all. Shame as the proper levels are fantastic and most of the hidden stars are clever and fun to discover.

Either I'm getting old or this is WAY too difficult.
