I've ordered this despite only getting Red Steel 2 the other day (and only playing it once so far!).

I loved SMG so the fact that i've not read a single person saying that this is anything else than a perfect sequel has me very keen.

Only downside of SMG I felt was that once you got past the 70 stars (or whatever it was) to 'finish' it, it then became really hard. Years back i'd have had no problem with that (played Mario 64 all the way through) but these days I just don't have the time to give so much of it to 1 game. Major shame as well, given the extra Lugi mode there was in SMG.

This is a wonderful game. The level design is so inventive, the action is perfectly paced, it's beautiful to look at & the music is superb. It's utterly captivating.

Glad you're enjoying it. Currently playing through SMG1, and I agree that the game design, etc, is captivating, and a welcome change for this jaded gamer!

I've played through the first world and a little of the second, and like Chalie Angel says the level design is very good indeed. I just wish they'd drop the attempts at story in the game. It's so annoying after almost every star having to push A though some rubbish dialogue and then run to the helm of your ship so you can pick the next level.

Just got an e-mail from ShopTo that Mario Galaxy 2 has been sent. Only got a few stars for the first game so far. Must plug my Nintendo Wii in at some point in the near future...

Watched the DVD that came with the game first. It has three sections just explaining the controls and gameplay. Some of the more advanced moves like the double kick might be quite useful. The last section is dedicated to inveNtive ways of playing and showing off all the moves you've learned into a couple of challenge videos.

Started the game itself and from the very beginning Super Mario Galaxy 2 has quality written all over it. Although I still haven't got very far in the first game you can't really go wrong with another game in the Mario Galaxy series because the possibilities are endless with this open ended formula.

I got the first power star on the first galaxy and that was quite straight forward. But when I returned to collect the second the enemies and some of the gameplay had changed in ways that is pure Nintendo. So obviously, Mario Galaxy 2 is more of the same but so far with some Super Mario Bros Wii influences which is no bad thing.

QUALITY!

This is brilliant for that "just one more go factor". Stars often only take less minutes to pick up, so each time you get one you think you might as well quickly get another - before you know it it's midnight

Just opened World 5 but have got around 50 stars. The level design is sublime and the controls - being pretty much identical to Mario Galaxy - are still spot on. There's the occassional niggle when your camera viewpoint changes and your movement is relative to the camera, but it's not much of a problem.

I'm going to be starting Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 from the beginning so I've got a hell of a lot of gameplay to look forward to. I understand that once you complete MG2 you get to play through it again with another 120 green power stars to find, is that correct?

Can't you do an order cancelling spin attack move on them and order it elsewhere?
