That was dumb, boring and stupid. There is no ******* way that GT would win that race.

For him to have won he would have had to break many, many laws and speed limits. Also as I live in the US now. Unless they did all the driving at 3am it would have taken 8 hours to do that journey.

For reference I did San Francisco to Las Vegas (560 Miles) in 8 hours pretty much Non stop (stopped once for gas at the start of the Mojave) but we started at 1am from San Francisco so there was minimal traffic. And to do it in that time I was doing an average of 70mph (thus breaking the law).

The scripted **** is just nonsense. Seeing as we were told what flight Hammond and May were booked on.

Still no idea why they now have a “celebrity” bit.

It was like watching an exact clone of Top Gear this week.

Next time my mate is on a flight, I didn't realise anyone could phone up with no information and get him downgraded and get people to serve them no alcohol.

Just stupid.

Surely he should have been stuck in NYC traffic for a couple of hours

I think this could be the 2nd and last series, 3 episodes in and it's pretty appalling so far.

I reckon they've been compromised a lot with Hammond breaking his leg.

I'm sure they could have explained why he had a pilot with him.

I guess it'll go on whilst Amazon thinks it is making them some money, how many subs did they get? How many people watch it? They'll have all that info.

I have Prime, I watch the odd movie and the kids watch a bit, but I watch The Grand Tour.

They signed a 3 series deal, so there will definitely be at least one more series next year.

There’s already talk about amazon wanting to extend their deal.

I enjoy it, it makes me laugh sometimes, but if I miss a bit I don't rewind it to see it, I don't watch it immediately on a Friday either.
I don't try and delude myself into thinking it's all spontaneous and not scripted, but then I didn't expect it to be all that different from what they did on Top Gear. It's entertainment not brain stimulating TV

I can see why they would want to extend the deal, I'm sure plenty of people watch it, I know I do and I probably don't watch a lot on there except the kids stuff (the kids do).

I thought the Unscripted episode was quite entertaining, although to be honest it was the most scripted thing I ever saw. I don't think people mind them staging races and stuff, it's the daft scripted stuff that grates sometimes.

The recent episode was worth watching just for that dashboard moment with the new McLaren sports-car...

I don't know what it is but something about it just doesn't work for me, it doesn't hold my attention in the slightest. Latest episode was ok.

It now just seems to be a blatant rip off of Top Gear, have they agreed to pay for the format or something? That last episode was an episode of Top Gear without the music (which presumably they could licence themselves), right down to the charts.

I know you can't copyright a show or something, but the whole thing seems to be continuing on from the declining years of Top Gear, which was growing stale, with only the Chris Evans thing to put it into any sort of context that it could be worse.

There's only so much you can do without just resorting to reviewing cars sensibly. I still think that there are a lot better car videos available on youtube etc. now and quite often Top Gear and the Grand Tour are months out of date by the time they're aired.

I miss the 'specials' - driving across some foreign country, having 'adventures' - not just driving around a bendy road in Italy, but struggling to negotiate mud flats, or getting somewhere without breaking down. Was hoping with the extendded budget they would do more of these (especially with the tent being in different countries) but it seems they've just nailed the tent down now and got an extended celebrity slot. The celebrity slot would be fine if there wasn't 2000 other TV shows with damn celebrities on them (appreciate that sounds weird ... where else would celebrities be) but there are so many talk shows, celebrity reality shows, etc, we don't need another show with celebrities shoehorned in.
As Jedibitch says, we usually watch it on a Friday night, but have started to find its not holding our attention, and its getting 'missable' now.

Infinitely better.

My favourites are Harry's Garage and Bad Obsession Motorsport

Loads of other good ones. Something for every taste.

Is there no special this year? I can't be arsed with the show in general any longer but do like me a feature length adventure.

I wasn't sure at first either but I enjoy his videos now, like you say he's very thorough.
