Carillion in big trouble but I expect there will be a taxpayer funded bailout and no one will be held to account.

Not to be some momentum crony, how is this better than nationalisation?

Lots of blame to go around but how on earth can anyone defend giving them contracts after the profit warnings started coming. No doubt some civil servants will get blamed but the big boys will get off scott free. Shocking.

Does not appear to be a CVA or administration yet, but Plumb Centre have announced they are closing 98 stores and their Leamington Spa distribution centre.

Especially the labour council civil servants who awarded a huge contract seven days ago.

I'd have thought anyone in the "lowest bidder and worry later" sector is going to be looked at pretty closely.

Gibson guitars could be a big name going down in 2018 - lots of debt to repay

Jamie Oliver closes flagship Barbecoa restaurant

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43121644

Jamie Oliver's two flagship London restaurants have gone into administration, although the celebrity chef immediately bought one back.

His upmarket Barbecoa steak restaurant in London's Piccadilly will close a year after it was re-launched.

The other outlet, near St Paul's Cathedral, has been saved after the chef bought it for an undisclosed sum via a newly-created subsidiary.

The move comes as Mr Oliver makes cuts in other parts of his business.

Toys R Us has gone into administration. Huge VAT bill to pay, and they haven't managed to find a buyer.

Looks like Maplin will be next.

Maplin will be a shame. They're useful when you need a computer part and can't wait for delivery.

How often is that though? Hardly enough to keep a chain of stores going apparently.

Sad to see stores going generally, but I think TRU was on the cards for a while, cut staff to the extent it's a real miserable shopping experience. Not sure folks want to travel to out of town places to try and get toys anymore.
