I dropped it in season 6, I find it bizarre that such an exciting premise can result in such dull television.

At least The Walking Dead has one of the best theme songs and credits sequences of any current show - it might now be the highlight of the episode for me.

It got worse. I stuck with it for S2 and 3(!) but gave up in S4. Didn't even bother trying with Reborn.

I gave up somewhere in season 2 I think when the writing and story took a nosedive.

"Hmm, if only we had some way of stopping the baddie's powers?" asks Cheerleader's dad, whilst talking to the guy who's super power is stopping other people's powers...

I'm still sticking with it despite the fact that its took a serious downturn of late. So far this season has been ridiculous, Morgan headshotting baddies one after the other and the shoot out at the compound was like 1000's of rounds being fired at point blank range and hardly hitting anything, to the laser accuracy of cross bow arrows to convey messages. Makes you wonder what the cast think of what they are being a part of now. I will carry on watching until the end but its not something I care so much about anymore, I used to watch Talking Dead but stopped that a couple seasons ago as its just not an important show to me now.

I am pretty near the end of my tether with the show too. It's like someone who can't tell a story without wandering round the houses and loses your interest before they return to the point - it's like that because it is that. It's taken 4 episodes to get back to ******** pants, they make a big thing of a nobody returning and then take 2 episodes to reach this week's ending. 2 weeks of listening to terrible heightened dialogue in service of some unspecified objective when better aim would have sorted it all in episode one - the show has become masochism without dramatic purpose.

At least Z nation can laugh at its own nonsense, this show is lost meandering up its own decaying fundament.

Episode 4: How much ammo did those clowns expend on that car to hit nothing?! And then they ran out of ammo. FFS!

As for the ending...

I agree, I'm getting close to ditching this but its difficult having come all this way. The truck chase transported me back to watching the A-Team, The constant terrible accuracy of the bad guys.

Neegan and the Priest still in that portacabin ?
It’s like schrodinger's zombie.

I’m betting just when it gets really dull they have a good old flashback to what happens in there

Sunday's was a better episode at least.

It's like Negan as well as killing Abraham beat the **** out of the show at the same time. It's been downhill ever since. I'm annoyed I have all the fancy blu-ray box sets so far. I may give them to my nephew for Christmas.

I'm not a comic book reader but apparently that was
so at least consistent with that.

It's been poor - 4 episodes all pretty much the same and we're hardly any further along than the start of the season. And I guess the thing is, I don't really care too much what happens with this 'all out war'.

This.

Despite my post a couple of episodes ago, I keep thinking it's got to get better, and to keep giving it a chance. It literally gets worse and worse with every episode. Episode 4 was such a pile of rubbish. Suspension of disbelief is fine (it is a show about zombies), but the fact that the king made it, jerry comes just at the right moment etc etc. And nothing really happened. Again.

Where is this going? A really protracted showdown between Rick and Negan at the end of the series?

Really boring.

Just caught up on the last two episodes.

Serious question. Does anyone really know what is going on anymore? I can't even work out who is good and where the **** they are?

Also when did this god awful 80s zoom effect enter the show's style? Its gone from looking stunning to some sort of straight to video Segal number in places.

As for the car shooting bit, I actually laughed out loud.

I think that's me out after the last episode. I have no idea what they're thinking with the structure they're going for this season. I can only guess there was a meeting where someone suggested this would be a really clever thing to do, but its just an utter shambles.

I've not looked to see what the blogs and saying and what the ratings are like, but I'm guessing neither can be good. I did see one mention of the fact that it wasn't that long ago there seemed to be an ammo shortage and now its like an episode of the A Team where everyone has infinite ammo.

And... I'm declaring my hand. I'm out. After 8 series and 5 episodes, I can't hack it

Am off to rewatch Spartacus for a bit of light hearted relief.

I have no idea why the guns they're going after are so important. They're losing people and wasting ammo, yet everyone already seems to have their own collection of automatic weapons. Maybe Rick's looking for a gun with a straight barrel so he can finally shoot Negan.
