The single release of the main albums should be released in 2018.

All will be available separately apart from the bonus disc and Lodger remix (I believe)

Several sound issues with the new Bowie boxset...most noticeable is a huge volume drop 2:50 into the track 'Heroes

I contacted Amazon about a return and they amazingly said ' Keep the box, we will give you a full refund. Apologies for the inconvenience'

I can't really notice the other errors on my stereo but more so on headphones, the volume dip is very obvious however you listen to it.

Shake Head

Just been reading up and it effects all versions!

Amazon have now withdrawn the set from sale (although still available from 3rd party sellers).

They have offered me a full refund if I return the set, but think Im going to hang on incase there is some sort of replacement procedure put in place by Parlophone that gives us a little bonus as we have been put out.

Parlophone respond to David Bowie ‘Berlin’ box set mastering criticisms

To be honest I think the people complaining about "base being wrong levels(etc)" are really complaining that it just doesn't sound like they want it to be, rather than what it should be. The people that were there at the time that were involved with these releases have far better knowledge of what it should sound like.

With regards to the Heroes volume drop I'm in two minds. I dug out my old RCA original cd release to listen to and there is definitely something wired going on with the sound for the first two and a half minutes compared to the rest of the track. I guess at the time we weren't as acceptable to noticing these things or just put up with them? However as much as I want these remastered versions to be as close as possible to the original I kind of wish this had been "fixed" (or should that be substituted from another source?).

Like the other two box sets this one is going to be a Christmas present from my wife, so won't be listening to it to Christmas Day. I will keep an eye on any developments, but feel this is going to be it and there won't be any replacement option offered. In any case I'm certainly not as worried about what I was going to hear on Christmas Day as I was earlier.

I saw that the CD boxed set has reduced in price online and in stores...not sure if this means they are going to issue a new version. Perhaps its a smart move to buy the box now then ask for a replacement disc....
