At about ep 7 (I think) it seriously jumped the shark and I actively stopped watching it. I would be curious if it manages to recover from the

Just curious as to how you actively stop watching something, as opposed to just stop watching something?

For me, passively stopping watching something is a sort of...ok if it was a book it would fall limply from my hands and I would just wander off leaving it on the floor. Actively stopping reading a book features me getting annoyed. possibly throwing it at a wall and certainly moaning about it on internet forums.

So like that, but with a TV.

Following on from the earlier "Amazon (and to a lesser degree Netflix) are crap at highlighting what's added to their service" discussion, plus of course the "Amazon have so much utter **** on their service" discussion...

I've been using this site for a few months to track what's added to each:

https://www.justwatch.com/uk/new?providers=amp,nfx

And more recently (just after JimDriver2 posted that Last Flag Flying was added, as Justwatch missed it) I found this site to track what's added to Amazon:

http://amzprime.maft.uk/

What's really interesting about the above site is they specifically have a 'junk additions' section for the kind of crap prevoiusly discussed (sometimes some genuine content gets mis-sorted, and vice versa). Sure the quality of films and TV shows are subjective, but I'm referring to content that is effectively user content that belongs on YouTube. eg.

Clip: Why Does Netflix Make Bad Content?

Classy! (and no I've not watched it, they don't deserve the clicks).

Another good thing about said site is they track removals. Sadly I saw they removed Highlander today - 7 ******* days after they added it! ************. I saw that was added earlier in the week and was planning to watch it as I've not seen it in ages.

Actively is when you remove the series link, etc. Passively is where you just never get round to watching it and don't watch it week in and week out, etc.

Eventually you realise you've got 29 episodes and can't be bothered.

I passively stopped watching Gotham, actively stopped watching Gunpowder

Aye.

Actively stop is when I decide "this is trash, I'm not watching any more" (it happened around season 4 of Sons of Anarchy for myself, brother and father within about 3 episodes) and remove any series links or reminders, whilst passively stopping is basically putting it to the end of the queue or not checking when it's going to be on again.

There are relatively few series where I'll actively stop watching half way through a season (although SOA is a good example), but a much higher number where I've not bothered to look out for the next season or I've let them slip whilst I watch other stuff that is more appealing and then forgotten about it.

I may go back and restart watching something I've dropped because of a bad season/it's lost my interest compared to other things, but something I've dropped mid season* because it's gotten terrible I'll likely never touch again.

We thoroughly enjoyed season 1 of SOA, but by season 4 it was nonsense (in my opinion) and not worth wasting any more time on as I'd kept watching for about half a dozen episodes that were wasting my time.

On the other hand I sort of lost interest in Mad Men the first time I tried to watch it (partly because it was slow and I had a lot of other things to watch), but when a couple of years later I picked up the complete set cheap and started watching it again whilst I had more time I enjoyed it.

*It typically has to get really really bad for me to drop mid season with no intention of ever watching again, I've slogged through to the end of a bad season more than once in the hope it'll pick up.

The final season of SOA ****** all over any good memories you had of the show.

The finale itself was trite, telegraphed and done so badly it was laughable.

Yeah Amazon are funny like that. A lot of the content don't stay for long. But often they come back a couple of weeks later.
