It has been for a long time. They’re listing Meltdown tickets for Ł700!

So I spent the money on getting my car an MOT instead.

Bunch of quitters. Group together and buy a box. Ł230 each for Loggia hospitality with nachos, sour cream dip, cheese burgers and a selection of drinks. The way Nine Inch Nails should be enjoyed these days
Avatar last Friday at a school hall in Islington a lot more fun and with ticket prices nowhere near that of the Muppets at the O2

EP 3 announced, and it's actually a new full album apparently. Bad Witch, 22nd June.

My Bad Witch vinyl arrived today. First impression is that I prefer it to Add Violence. Definitely got a more melancholic tone to it.

Seeing them at the Royal Festival Hall tomorrow, so delighted that I got to listen to the new material a day early. I feel like a jammy ****** on both counts.

I'd say this is easily the most experimental thing that Trent's done. It's going to take a while to digest it, but it's potentially among the best music he's ever released. It's like Broken crossed with Ghosts crossed with late '70s David Bowie.

Glad you said Bowie, as I was thinking a similar thing (although the immediate parallels I drew were to the material he made just before he died). Second half sounds like the soundtrack to a non-existent Twin Peaks film.

Meltdown was ace. Only disappointment was that they played nothing from Not the Actual Events, and only really covered material from the other two EPs. Still, it was cool to see a fairly atypical setlist in a small-ish venue. Great cover of Bowie’s I’m afraid of Americans too.

They opened with the first four songs from The Fragile, and I started to think/hope they were going to play the album in full, but it didn’t happen.

I'm not entirely sure what I make of EP-3 after a bunch of listens. It's definitely the most cohesive of the trilogy, with each song sounding very much like they belong to each other. It's also very abstract and it doesn't have many of the traditional NIN hooks, and the vocals are sometimes so distorted it kind of removes me from the melodies.

Over And Out is my favourite song, I'm quite sure. God Break Down The Door is the most "traditional" sounding thing on the album, and I can see why it was released as the leading single.

I like it and I love that Trent is always willing to explore new directions, but I think my favourite EP is Add Violence.
