Ah well, we won't have the FA Cup to worry about now this season...seems like we've peaked too early!

Utterly hopeless! I've no idea what's happened but I reckon there's a Portuguese bloke out there with a huge smile on his face...United have just gone to ****!!

That's harsh on Wolves, they're a very good side

As a Chelsea supporter I’m feeling better about last weekends result now!

Yeah, Wolves are decent, but we are garbage tonight! We are as bad as we were under Maureen...incredibly disappointing

...dropped out the top 4, out of the FA Cup and 99% certain we're out of the CL too all in 6 days! Maybe Ole is just too easy going on this lot to be long term boss, they needed a kick up the arse at half time and nothing changed...we got worse if anything!

You can't blame him for the CL draw!

I know, but it does seem our form has dropped dramatically just as all the talk was about the huge confidence within the team! Now any chance of silverware has realistically vanished in the space of 6 days I wonder if he's still a shoe-in for the job? I just wonder if he's capable of giving them a ********** when needed (...like it was needed today)?

It's no shame to lose to us nowadays, though you really didn't create one decent chance in 90 mins (same as Chelsea last week, which we should have won).

We do what we always do. Make it incredibly hard for the top sides to play through us. That's why they often look off their game against us. And our quality on the break can win us the game.

We were the better team in the second half after soaking up Utd's dominant possession in the first half. 17 shots and 7 on target. Jota/Jimenez really have been excellent for us since they were moved up front together, and Moutinho just defies his age.

Oh and VAR got the card right. It wasn't a red.

Nice to see the "we should be winning 5-0" belief back in the supporters. Time to sack Ole and try again with someone else.

Haven't seen the red card incident but did Atkinson refer to the monitor after speaking to the VAR? If not, I was under the impression that the VAR could not just overrule the on pitch referee ?

Not sure of the rules on VAR but I thought the yellow was correct so it did its job one way or the other

Agree the VAR got the red card right, but I don't like the way it undermined the authority of the referee as he'd already made his decision. Think there should be a VAR card for decisions to show he's going to refer it, because it would mean he kept the perception of his authority.

Why was VAR at some of this round's ties and not others?

I can understand it not being at earlier stages, where there are too many games to cover, but when it gets to a certain point in the competition, it should be at all games or none of them.

Because Swansea aren't in the Premier League ( same reason it won't be in use today ). VAR has been used in every round but only at Premier League grounds regardless of whether the game is televised or not.

Did I miss something, is VAR being used in every Premier League game this season?

No. Just in cup games and only at PL grounds.

No he didn't. They checked it while he stood around with the players. Then he made the TV signal, blew his whistle and said no red card, then booked Lindelof.

I guess they do over-rule the officials when it comes to offside decisions. But yes in the world cup the ref went over and looked at the monitor to see if he wanted to change his decision himself.

It especially was in Swansea's case yesterday as they had used it the season before in the FA Cup when they were in the PL. The reason given was supposed to be that lower league teams don't have the infrastructure and connectivity to use it.

They really need to say VAR can be used at any ground that can install it successfully it in time for the tie.

It's a difficult one. You could argue that it's fair in that both teams playing are subject to it, but when you look at the city offside winner allowed and Brighton just had a last minute winner wrongly disallowed it's hard to argue it's fair
