If you plead guilty you aren't appealing.
If you appeal you are saying you didn't do it, if they disagree they consider it frivolous. It's always been that way.

And yet when charged he accepted it, not appealing removes frivolity from the question.

Yellow at most. Unless Mings weighs less than my toddler.

If the players have been banned for 8 games combined, I'd love to see the ban they dish out to the officials in that match who let the whole thing spiral out of control and got virtually every call wrong.

Absolute nonsense.

Plenty of players appeal but still lose and hardly any of them get their ban extended.

A frivolous appeal is where, for example, you appeal simply as a means to try and delay the ban.

Is that appeals against a red card or against a disciplinary hearing?

Regardless, I don't think the FA statement mentions frivolity, just a 5 match ban for violent conduct.

Such a crucial goal, horrible pitch, but we are doing well so far.

Really ugly game! United pretty poor second half and could still lose it... ...hopefully we can do the business at OT!

Fellaini was the best player on the pitch tonight. Which says everything about the game.

Second ugly match in a row - disappointing to concede, but really good result.

Horrible game, horrible pitch & we are playing horrible football. I've seen better down the local park.

Was Lingard not a striker before he got shunted out to the wing?

We do look awfully thin up front, don't we? And if Ibra gets tempted by the US cash - and who could blame him - then we're going to need to perform some miracles in the transfer market this summer.

That said, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if one of these 'injured' players starts the match tonight!

Or Pogba. He did start his career as a striker after all, right?

We definitely need to get somebody tall up there as set pieces are Chelsea's only weak spot...

Not looking good for us though
