Will a 4k TV make my blu-rays look crap?

I'm in the market for a new TV and am debating on whether to upgrade to 4k. I'm just a bit worried that the large blu-ray collection I've spent the last few years gathering will now look terrible when upscaled.

Is this a genuine issue, or do 4k televisions handle it quite well?

They’ll be fine

SD looks crap upscaled on a 4k TV.

Pretty much all HD sources look fine.

What size screen you looking to get?

Blu-ray looks great on my 49inch. Even DVDs still look nice IMO.

I have a 55 and it looks fine.

My mate has a 65 and Blurays still look fine on that. Anything SD is really ropey though.

I've just got a 65" OLED and Bluray still looks good on it. Heck, even my Frasier DVDs look good on it!

Just sit a bit further back ? Sounds flippant, but a serious solution if your room layout allows.
