Doens't change the fact that lumping everyone in a single group is idiotic.

No backtracking, just clarifying my view, nothing i've said changes the fact I feel he has been a hindrance rather than a help. a small drop in form that knocked confidence, mixed with the return of a poison chalice its not hard to see why I would think that would help explain a larger dip in form.

Good to see the Mods on form!, honest.

Mancini played him because your other strikers stopped producing, nothing to do with his contract, the idea that he could have walked away for nothing is ridiculous.......hence the guff.

I agree with you, I think it was poor judgement by Mancini and completely undermined his credibility.

Well I personally see it as the only reason he is in the squad, Its standard contract stuff for players to have clauses that state if fit and doesn't play something like 10% of matches they can hold the club in breach of contract and walk away on a free and probably sued us.

Its the "if fit" part that's key in my view, He knew we couldn't stop him coming back but if he didn't come back and get fit we could have terminated the contract and sued.

Surprisingly there is no extra charges against Balotelli as the ref saw it.

If Atkinson saw it and deemed it ok he should be sacked immediately. Its a ludicrous state of affairs caused by the terrible FIFA/FA regs

Why not have a citing procedure like rugby? Surely there's no downside with that

Yet Ivanovic has been charged by the FA today for a comparatively minor offence. God bless the idiots at the FA...

Crazy!!

So ref saw it and just lets play continue then - if I was him I would have gone with the "never seen it guv" scenario as he would look a lot less foolish.

Well let that put an end to all the pro-United, anti-City, "why always him" garbage.

Very generous, especially from Shaun Derry's viewpoint!

I always took the "Why always me" thing as a dig at the media rather than ref/officials.

probably, although it was rather a self-fulfilling prophecy really...

"why always you, Mario? because you're always acting like a cock, that's why!"

Normal service resumed finally. Sounds like Silva had a decent game so maybe the rest against Arsenal did him good. A goal difference boost and good night overall with the gap reduced to 5, possibly 2 by the time United play again, but winning away doesn't appear to be our specialised subject at the moment so we shouldn't get too excited just yet.

I'll settle for a narrow hard fought win over Norwich first. The way our away form is, United will be the easiest of our next 3 games.

The poznan doesn't have quite the same effect with empty seats in the middle.

My thoughts exactly, I didn't realise United had overtaken us on goal difference as well so those goals are a major boost.
