The post-X Factor experience is a fairly grim twilight world, isn't it...

the quirky blonde one, there was something not quite right - i call "plant" - why would SC not want her to sing her original choice? far better than WatC and i'm not sure why he would think that one wouldn't make her stand out from the rest. it was more of a singer's song than we are the champions any day of the week.

Is that the divvy one with the fake blonde wig? That fluffed her lines but was then somehow allowed to have another go?

If X-Factor has taught us anything, it's that overexposure to autotune causes malaria.

The dancing is atrocious though. Was it choreographed by a 5 year old?

Wow! That's spectacularly awful in every way! His Hitler hairdo and her scrunched up testicle face just add to the comedy.

I dunno, she looks a bit like a slightly muscular Maggie Grace, it's not all bad.

Probaby the sister of the 4 year old boy that operated the camera and kept cutting half the heads off I think.

His haircut is definitely a shocker!

I don't want to stereotype, but she has that kind of voice that is really annoying. And she strikes me as the kind of girl that makes a big thing about doing it all on her own, but you know blatantly has mummy and daddy to fall back on once it goes pear shaped.

The backstage shots of their families though.. images like that should not be shown pre-watershed!

Stuff like that makes X factor almost watchable. Once all that calms down the show turns into mushy pap.

The kid at the end (who was 14 in 2008, and who got booted at the judges' final selection for the live shows stage) is a real bet to do an Alexandra Burke and win the show at the second attempt. You heard it here first.

Agreed. He got more air time which is always a sign.

I was confused later on when the 16 year old turned up "who was just old enough to enter the competition". Presumably they increased the min age to 16 at some point ?

Come the live show, he'll get the teenage girl vote, nice money spinner for Cowell. Got to respects the guy's eye for a Ł.

We play along with the panto in our house. My wife watches it, I make sneering remarks, she bites back, it's rather fun. She moans that I spoil it for her, but when I leave the room , she complains that I'm not watching it with her.
