Interesting article on the ratings here - which also mentions poor DVD sales (and v interesting to see just how much Heroes makes from DVD sales): http://www.tvovermind.com/fringe/wil...ng-alley/11404

They do these breaks every year with some shows.

They have low expectations sticking it in that timeslot. Grey's Anatomy and CSI are behemoths in the US, though it's slightly concerning that The Office is beating it so handily. It's viewing figures have dropped significantly though, from roughly 9million for season 1 to roughly 6million so far for season 2.

So that tvovermind article is basically saying that Fringe will be done with this season then unless something miraculous happens to the ratings? Typical! Just when I start liking it!

IIRC it's cos Fox covers Basketball and that takes up the airwaves for about a month. It's why Fox show start earlier than other networks.

The ash fx in this week's episode were outstanding! I thought it was an excellent episode all round, real old-school X-Files vibe to it.

Gotta agree with you. The remnant half ash/half body crime scenes were really eerie.

Bald guy alert

Excellent episode, seemed designed to come before a hiatus what with the ending.

Trivia: the actor playing August is Edward Woodwards, RIP, son.

Presumably this week's episode was brought to us by Ford?

So many questions from this show, but much prefer it to Lost,

I really love this show now - it's really matured IMO. Can't believe it consistently gets such ****** ratings in the States - the general US TV viewers really are idiots!

I loved the reference to the X-Files in the show a few weeks ago - I would LOVE to see a X-Files/Fringe crossover ep if they ever decided to bring back X-Files...

They really should do a Halloween episode next year where Pacey/Olivia have to go to a fancy dress party as Mulder/Scully - if those idiots at Fox give it a 3rd season that is...

I'm really enjoying Season 2 of Fringe but one thing that's been baffling mean is why Agent Broyles is always giving important briefings in the park ? Don't they have a nice shiny "Federal Building" to conduct their meetings ?

Fox mid term schedule came out, Fringe goes on Hiatus from Feb 11 back in early April. So we get the Christmas hiatus, then 3 or 4 episodes then another month long break. sounds like a plan to kill off the show

Isn't that because the budget for season 2 was drastically cut? No more large sets, impressive locations and scenes involving lots of extras.

Makes no sense at all...

You wonder as well, if they want to kill a show, why do they do everything they can to trash it's ratings. Just kill it, don't cock about trying to justify that it had no viewers so it made sense to cancel. It's irrelevant though you decided to put it on, on a 4am Sunday slot and made it audio only.
