Makes sense. The reason so many people get it all illegally is because it's so overpriced. I can't imagine it'll be that much cheaper, but it's in the right direction to be able to pay for the channels you want and not those you don't.

They really need to update Now TV to give the same channels and proper HD on them too. They're currently years behind Netflix and Amazon for quality.

I'd been mulling over looking into options for a foreign dish and sub, may reconsider if the prices for Sky are worth it.

Depends how much they are, however won't folks mass cancel the footy in the summer months? Same with the F1, or indeed I guess most sports.

Maybe they'll put a 3-month cancellation period on them instead of 31 days.

Still getting F1 grand-fathered in on my subscription, if there,s a significant change due to this than I will ditch the whole lot and go back to a Freeview box, oh and I will be switching broadband too.

I think I pay more than enough for what I get, this is all driven by Sky's stupid obsession with football which I have absolutely no interest in whatsoever.
The plain fact is they paid far too much and now they're finding that people don't want to pay all that much for it after all.

They have said that it will be £18pm for one of the new sports channels with others added on top as additional fees.

They have already said football will be two channels. So if they split Premier League on one and rest on other (Football League, Spanish, International etc.). I can see many only wanting Premier League. Scottish football they currently share with BT until end of next season is de facto list as the Scottish authorities have said they want one broadcaster and prefer BT.

The big rights deal for Sky coming up is English cricket announced Friday as BT are going after this in a big way as its second biggest subscription driver plus it appeals to richer, older more upmarket subscribers than football.

Cricket is the only reason I get Sports. If they lose that I'm out.

I suppose it might help them actually see what these rights are worth, but at the same time if you're a sports enthusiast I'd be put off by having to pay for all the channels.

£18pm isn't too bad if you just want the footy, but I strongly doubt it'll be all the good footy on one and all the rubbish footy on two, who'd pay £18 for lower league football. I would imagine a football fan might need to have both.

As said, they pay more and more for stuff, this is hardly likely to be a price reduction for sports fans is it?

Daft question but how much did it used to be? Seems decent value if you want the whole lot.

£18 for one. They're having a laugh! I'd be happy to pay a fiver or so a month for F1.

At least they've made them lower prices if you only want two or three.

F1 is now £18 instead of £27.50 if that is all you want to watch. Still a decent saving if you were paying the full amount before.

I still think just one sport should have been around £10, but they HAVE lowered prices which will benefit plenty of people. If you think it's still not enough, then you still have the choice of not having it at all.

Do you have to sign up for a 12 month contract for each one? I'd only want F1 during the race calendar, and then drop the channel for the other months

Presumably they've thought of that? Most of those sports have an off season, maybe they'll continuously bump the costs to stop constant reactivators during the season.

The F1 is pretty bad value, what do you get 19 races a season? Compared to hundreds of footy matches. It's also spread across 9 months of the year, pretty much two races a month on average. It also costs a lot less than the EPL

I originally got F1 channel in the HD pack a few years bcd when Sky first started showing it.

As a result I still get it for "free" included in the extra £10 a month I pay for HD and have been told as long as I don't change my channels it will always be this way, so Im still happy .

Don't know why they don't get the act together and do a Motor Sport channel which would offer much better value.

Are they going to be having similar pricing on Now TV?

Presumably you can't just pay £22 a month for only football and still have to pay for their basic family packages, plus extra for HD.

I'll stick with my full package for now bit I suspect they will jack the price of that pretty heftily in a year or two.

£18pm if you just want F1, golf or cricket. Sky are having a laugh.

£26pm if you want just football but want to guarantee getting the same coverage you got last season.

So much for re-branding / adding choice / getting the CS users back into the fold.
