Considering he was a barrister he should have easily shown he was a scapegoat on the pricing, as ajr90 pointed out.

Rafe could have talked his way out of trouble by pointing out that of the 22 boxes, 19 were labeled correctly, 2 that were incorrectly labeled weren't noticed by anyone on the team (just Margaret), and the project manager didn't notice the final error.

If I were either of them, I'd have distanced myself from the class difference argument, and pointed out that all day long Alex was trying to allocate blame if anything was spotted as going wrong. If I were the barrister I'd have pointed out that only charging 1/3 mark up would have meant that even if they'd sold everything at asking price they'd have still only been Ł40 ahead of the girls, so there was clearly a problem with the instructions over pricing in the first place.

No one on either team covered themselves in glory on this task, though to be fair they had no time to get to know each other, unlike previous years. Can't really see any early favourites.

I'd go along with part of that, though I wouldn't say the women were all ugly!

Funny as you like - I was hoping that Nicholas Palmer-Tompkinson would stay in for the comedy value of him trying to mix with the under classes. I'll now be championing Rafe...

Which one do you think looked like Matt Lucas? I'm not seeing that at all.

God no, it's all horribly derivative sub-Dali cack. The sort of rubbish I'd expect from a 6th former with ideas he's better than he is.

Read his biography - anyone who writes that about themselves with a straight face deserves a slap with a fish.

Mind you, it's not like he labelled a shark as a hamster.

Yeah I remember him but I think you really have to want to see the likeness.

Maybe. But as soon as I saw him last night I wondered what Matt Lucas was doing on the show

Good call this week. Primary school error on the pricing. Unforgivable for someone supposedly clever.

A case of "School for the Gifted" methinks.

I wonder if Amstrad Alan this time around actually knows (and has told them) what he's looking for.

Previous episodes he seems totally mixed up right till the last moment if he actually wants an apprentice to train and make into the person he wants them to be, or he wants an established person who he can just put in charge of something and let them get on with it.

As I said, in past episodes we've had mixtures of both applicants, and no-one, not even Amstrad Tat Alan seems to know what he wants till the last 2 are at the table.

I know hindsight is a wonderful this (for us watching the show) and we don't know what time they actually had to do things.............

But, all that aside, you would have thought, as it was a selling task, the very 1st things to do would be:

1: Itentify the products (look at them) and set the prices BEFORE setting up your pitch.

2: Decide where you were going to sell your product.

Even if the team was split into 2, there should have been plently of people to get both of these aspects nailed before mid-day.

I am glad the pretend toff went last night. He deserved to go with his highly educated background but can't workout basic maths excuses. What a pratt.

Rafe is going to be a laugh for the potential toff quotes he is going to come out with. He looks like he has been trained to sit upright and behave in a manner taught by those teachers from "Ladette to lady".

Im glad he went last night as he was a total tool

However if he had stayed then he would make good entertainment in the future weeks.

I loved the Football comment,He obviously didnt know that AS had football connections That he also doesnt get on with people who talk about Football.Doesnt he know a thinmg about AS?

My initial thoughts about the women, not a single good looking one amongst them.I will have another look next week,at least last year there was a few good looking ones.As for the guys they all look like they have just finished the latest Littlewoods catalogue shoot

How about that then an affilate link in this thread
