I've liked those ever since I heard Charlie Brooker describe Iceland ads as 'pushing the boundaries on the definition of what is considered food' in them. Watching people pretend to get excited at the thought of a chocolate cake for Ł2 is quite amusing.

I hate the PC World adverts. Most of them don't even make sense. At least PC world lost loads of money over xmas. Serves 'em right for having such rubbish ads.

I wanted to know that too! I watch all my programmes at least 10 minutes after they start so that I can ff the ads. Most of the ads on tv annoy me!

The Iceland Prawn Ring
DFS sofas
Pentapeptides
The yoghurts with Bifida Digestum thingies

and I absolutely can't stand the "Had an accident at home or work?"
ads where the stupid woman slips on something as she goes through reception.

(I must point out that I only see these when someone else has control of the remote or when Im in the dining room watching tv and watching ordinary tv!)

I thought that was a pretty decent advert, actually. I like any advert that's had a bit of thought put into it rather than the usual standard of crap we get.
forgot about this post, just goes to show I couldn't even remember who made the stupid thing
I like adverts to make sense, I didn't see what it had to do with christmas barring the snow?
you say it had thought but, I dont think it did, why not make a christmas scene, or are they hedging their bets and rolling this advert out anytime it snows?

But it was, essentially, a Christmas image. Snow is (rightly or wrongly) often associated with Christmas and even though you could argue that, yes, it was just a 'winter scene', the advert was clearly for Christmas at John Lewis and was far from confusing in its intent.

Come back when the silhouette is lying on a beach with a cocktail, then we'll talk.

I did quite like the Morrisons one.

You could imagine the meeting and the agenda -

"Item 1, xmas ad - Should we get one really good celeb for our advert or get ten really **** ones for the same amount of money?"

All it was over Christmas was practically just ads for beds and sofas. And hardly anything else. I don't get it. They think everyone's looking to spend money on new sofas and beds, but nothing else. Not even food....

Another ad which wasn't shown over Christmas but allways get shown repetively over Bank Holiday weekends are those B & Q ads with Bill Oddie doing the voice over. I find them so annoying.

I don't know when it started but the Morrisons ad with Alan Hanson is a load of rubbish and really annoys me.
