Jericho 1x18 *Spoilers*

Oh yes! .... that's more like it. We learned more about Hawkins this week than the rest of the series & it's very interesting indeed. The stuff with the chicken was funny too.

BUT ...... hands up who knew what the identity of the Uber Bad-guy would be, the second you saw a particular (brilliant) actor appear on screen? ...... All of you? .... Yeah, I thought as much.

A very good episode which revealed a lot and yeah it was obvious the baldy with the cain was obviously going to be the guy behind it all.

So what does this mean? Why would Homeland Security want to murder millions of people and destroy America?

Answering lots of questions and providing many more. Good stuff, although the teacher / Hawkins kid scenes were tedious.

The start of the series was great, then it sort of faded off into mediorcre-ness. Then they went on a break for 3 months. So most people just stopped watching I think. I only started watching again out of boredom! As it turns out, it's got pretty good again!

Wow, who knew that Jericho would get this good? Nice reveal of who the Big Bad is, though I didn't recognise the actor, I picked it up from when they focused on his cane.

The fallout plumes on Hawkins map though were way too big, you'd need multiple ground bursts to effect areas that big. As in Soviet strike of the 80's/early 90's big, not a few poxy bombs.

Erm...that's what they were. They're maps the US government made to calculate fallout from a soviet strike which is what the terrorist used to rally to the safest place in the US regardless of the actual size of the fallout.

Except that makes no sense, especially knowing that the fallout from a 20KT ground burst isn't going to spread much beyond a few 10's of miles. So you don't need predicitons based upon thousands of Soviet strikes, you just need to stay a few tens of miles from your targets

Maybe they originally planned to use much higher yield nukes. Or maybe the writers needed a reason to set everything in Jericho that would be plausible to the majority of viewers?

I guess the maps were worse case scenario's, probably tacking into account possible weather patterns as well bigger nukes.

Great episode although every time it cut to the school, cemetery, farm and Johnson sitting in that tree I was shouting "get on with it......."
