Sony KDL32S2530 reviews?

Anyone up on the Sony KDL32S2530. Looking at one for £800 +5yr g/tee. Also looking to pair it up with Humax 9200T pvr. Can't find any reviews for the Sony, but the Humax looks promising.

I'm also looking at the 32s2530 but finding it tough to find reviews. Probably still too new. Where did you find it for that price with the 5yr guarantee? Sounds like a good deal.

For ~£800, there's a brand new Toshiba set out - 32WLT68.

I've got my eyes on this one myself..

Review.

No problem. I'm thinking to try and get John Lewis (once they get stock) to try and price match Digital-Point here in Birmingham to get it for £827 with a 5 year guarantee. Would really like to get it from a high street store that I could return it too if had backlight bleed problems. Might be worth a go for you too.

Dno: That's a nice set, but I plan to use a Media Centre with the tv and require 1:1 pixel mapping which the Tosh can't do.

I have the 26" KDLS Sony. Watch out for the lousy remote and the even more lousy Freeview Program Guide they have.
Take my advice and look at one in the shops first. I wish I had!
The Panasonic is much better!

I also noticed this model is now at John Lewis - £1,095. From what I have gathered over and above the 2010 model - which it seems to have superceded as this is now no longer a Stock Item (wish I'd got one when they were £895) - seems to have improved connectivity, faster response time, and Pip functions.

Well, if I can get John Lewis to price match the Empire Direct price of £799 I think I might just have to get one of these. As for the remote and EPG: I've an all in one remote I'll use and Media Centre has its own EPG. Still, I know this set isn't perfect, it just seems like the best value for features at my price point.

If you read the John Lewis Internet Blurb they don't price match for their dot come site - and even in the stores they won't price match against internet sites.

Anyway - today they have dropped it by £150 to £945. When you take into account the 5 year Guarantee is worth at least £300 - then that is really good. Thing is, I have my heart set on the 40" version now - which they don't stock as of yet

Now down to £895 on John Lewis with a 5 year Guarantee. Damn, should I wait for them to get the 40" or not

Has anyone got this then for a review yet?

I just got John Lewis to price match Sony KDL32S2530U at Empire Direct (now £719.99). They will not price match internet sites, but Empire Direct also has brick&mortar sites in Bolton.

Speak first to Empire Direct to check stock in a Branch, then if in stock, then call John Lewis, ask for their Price Matching Department (undersales) and they will get back to you within 5 days with a yes or no.

In my case (with John Lewis Brent Cross), it took 48hours, so well happy. Also got them to price match the Humax 9200T (£174.99 at ED)

So all in, saving of nearly £200 and 5 years warranty.
Beware that JL will try and charge you £30 for delivery, but if you collect, then no need.

Wow, that is just amazing - I knew John Lewis didn't price match Internet sites or indeed they don't price match on their .com, but I didn't realise Empire Direct had real shops.

Out of interest, when you setup your 2530 can you post some comments, as I've yet to see any official or unofficial review of this model.

Out of interest, did JL deliver the KDL-32S2530U or the KDL-32S2530? The "U" model appears to be newer, and includes "Live Colour Creation" which I don't think the older one does.

I've ordered one up from JL (for £719, even though ED have put up their prices) and I'll be disappointed if it's an older model I get.

From the sony web site:
S2530

32S2530U

The U simply specifies that it is a UK model - so is no different to other euro S2530's

Yes - this is like a game! I called my local John Lewis last Friday, as described above, and asked them to price match. They still ain't got back to me. Anyway, I noticed today Empire have upped their prices again for this to £809.99! Although they now have a limited offer till 31st March of a free 5 year guarantee on all products.
