seriously missing out on this because of that is a massive mistake.

This is an epic tale. It's timeless and I hope in years to come will be as highly regarded as the Mysterious Cities of Gold, Ulysess 31 (not sure of the number), and anyother well remembered cartoon.

wish they would continue the story in some manner.

Three movies.. Book 1, 2, 3. So they are meant to follow the story of the TV series. Nothing new. From the look of the teaser trailer it's not going to be the same level as the TV series. Aang looked like Star Wars kid flinging around his fighting stick. Weak and slow compared the animated version. Though it was just a teaser...

link?

Also, i hope they don't continue the story, apart from a couple of lose ends, it wraps up quite nicely at the end

It was a bit tongue-in-cheek. The name is pretty silly though. Given the raves in this thread I'm actually thinking about picking it up though

It really is an excellent show, I'm still waiting on Book 3 to be cheap but with the crap USD rate it's looking unlikely for quite a while.

I may have to get the UK release when it comes out as the other 2 books are around Ł15 each, alot cheaper than what I paid for the R1 versions.

Only thing that puts me off is that they won't match and the UK versions have no extras.

That youtube clip wasn't too bad actually...

When it panned out and showed the fire nation ships, then I got interested.

As for M.Night...I was gutted when I found out he was behind it, as I'd got confused with the James Cameron film "Avatar"...

The cartoon is amazing considering it's American.

Nickelodeon has announced a new Avatar spinoff, from the original creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Entitled Avatar : The Legend of Korra, it will take place 70 years after the events of Airbender and will revolve around a female Avatar.

Quote:
"Mike and Bryan have imagined a compelling new story inspired by the Airbender mythology that they so brilliantly crafted when the TV series began," Johnson said. "This new avatar is not only a girl, but also hot-headed, independent and ready to take on the world."

The Legend of Korra follows the adventures of a "passionate, rebellious and fearless" teenager from the Southern Water Tribe, a girl named Korra. Having already mastered three of the four elements (Earth, Water, and Fire), she seeks to master the final element of Air. Her travels eventually lead her to the metropolis of Republic City, an epicenter for the modern Avatar world. Although a thriving society of benders and non-benders alike, Republic City is also ridden with crime, including an anti-bending rebellion that is gaining momentum. Under the guidance of Aang's son, Tenzin, Korra begins her airbending training as she confronts the dangers ahead of her.
Info and an image here and here and here

Well, I'm excited! Hopefully this will go some way to appeasing fans after the movie!
