Fairly average episode. We don't learn much other than Walt and Sayid don't think the hatch is meant to be opened. I agree that it was only meant to be opened from the inside but what if it's an emergancy exit? Maybe the real entrance is somewhere else but the hatch is their best way in.

We now know Kate is her real name (or katherine). We sort of understand the signifigance of the plane but she left it behind so she must have collected it later to put in the deposit box.

Love the song on track 2 of Charlies Album

BTW, Lost starts on the 23rd of May in Ireland, so we'll soon get some more fans, I'd imagine.

A pretty slow episode, nothin much happened. Dunno about anyone else but this show is starting to annoy me, too many loose ends and i just cant see them being tied up before the end of the season. Each episode raises more questions than answers and the suspense is killing me now.

I think this episode was a "we're telling you tonnes, but you don't know it yet" one.

The introduction of a new character.
Back story involving THOSE numbers and a couple of other bits and pieces that seem too much to be just coincidence.
Some home (well, island) truths.

what episode were you watchin? Episode 22 revolved around Kate.

I heard from a mate that Michelle Rodriguez turns up in next weeks episode alongside that crazy french chick. Have you seen next weeks episode, if you have where did you see it.

Maybe the hatch is whats gonna seperate them, the way Locke predicted in an earlier episode. Maybe between those that want and dont want it opened, or those who go in, and those that stay out.

And I wonder what that new character was about. Whats his role going to be. A science teacher. Possible use for opening the hatch. Or just somebody set to die.

Glad it explained about the toy plane, at least thats one question semi-answered.

I can just see the series ending with them going into the hatch, its been built up so much, it seems the obvious cliffhanger.

I guess we'll all know in 2 weeks. Or will we...

One thing I did pick up from this ep. Walt doesn't want to be around for the end of the season! Somethin' BAAAADs gonna happen!

Nice to see a couple of other island characters making an appearance now too.

I thought this week's episode was a big letdown after the one last week. Nothing progressed, and we got an unconvincing backstory about Kate and her childhood sweetheart, whose wife was conveniently out of town at just the right time.

The only thing that I did think was well-done is that Kate is the one who came up with the plan to poison Jin. I liked that part since it furthered the viewer's uncertainty over just how self-centered she is or isn't. You want to like her, but there's just something making you a bit unsure about her character.

One thing for sure is that Walt is a bit special for knowing about the hatch just by touching Locke.

I must have missed anything to do with THOSE numbers - what was said?

I've been thinking the same. I don't recall the numbers coming up, but I tend to watch TV shows blinkered anyway and rarely see things others do

For starters... The audio tape in the 'time capsule' was made on 15th August 1989 (8/15 in US date format.)

I think there were more, like the age of that guy's daughter (22 months I think.)

EDIT: 22 isn't one of those numbers. So ignore that one.

I'm the same - have missed EVERY Bad Wolf reference in Doctor Who as well - have to go back and watch again just to notice them!

Maybe Walt has premenitions like Locke did when he seen the light aircraft crash and boone covered in blood. Or maybe Walt seen it in that comic with the polar bears.

In the end of the episode where Boone died the hatch lit up. There must be somebody or something in there. My guess is its not something good.

The Official Daniel Roebuck Website reveals he'll appear in the last three episodes of the first season.
