Anyone on EFH broadband 1MB...I'm getting some really slow speeds

I've been doing a few speed tests and they are really slow....slower that a 512 line.

Speed test:
Downstream 359 Kbps (44.9 KB/sec) 387 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 105 Kbps (13.1 KB/sec) 113 Kbps (inc. overheads)

What's going on!? Is anyone else on this service? If you are can you post up your speeds to compare please, i'd be very greatful.

I am using a router....could there be any settings on there that are causing the speed to be so slow.....?

Any help much appreciated

Many thanks

and another 2 mins later

Downstream 361 Kbps (45.1 KB/sec) 389 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 237 Kbps (29.6 KB/sec) 255 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Probably a little unnecessary to bump after 45 minutes
How are you testing the speed?

Ask the same question over at http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/ , you're likely to get more information there.

By the way, what are you paying to EFH if you don't mind me asking?

EFH was drawing some criticism due to the bargain pricing of their products. Many think it's not a realistic pricing model, this may be the reason for your problems. I'm intrigued why ADSLGuide's speedtester won't work for you though. Have you tried using DRTCP?

thanks for the replys people.

Thanks for testing your speeds burn and mcallisterian, i just did another speed test and i got...

Downstream 796 Kbps (99.5 KB/sec) 859 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 156 Kbps (19.5 KB/sec) 168 Kbps (inc. overheads)

That's ok but it's not good enough....

Could something be using up my bandwidth, a program of some sort i don't know about??? I have closed all my p2p apps.

are there any programs that can tell me all the apps currently connected to the net??? (i don't mean zonealarm, i want something a bit more detailed)

many thanks
