The Onedin Line

Does anyone know what episodes are on the 2 volumes of The Onedin Line currently out on UK dvd?
There is 'Series 1 Part 1 Box Set (2 Discs)' and 'Series 1 Part 2 Box Set (2 Discs)' but I can't find out how many episodes are actually on them and I've never seen it either! Trying to get the series for my grandad!
Does anyone know if there will be any more volumes released?
I see on tvtome that there are 26 epsiodes over 2 series in total - is this correct?
http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet...e_Onedin_Line/

Thanks for any info
Richie

I've got these. Each volume contains two discs.
I think it is the whole of series one.

Volume One
disc 1 - 179 mins
disc 2 - 177 mins

Volume Two
disc 1 - 140 mins
disc 2 - 140 mins

There are nine seasons in total. Only the first is out on DVD. I have emailed Playback Universal about further releases but they have not replyed.

When I used to work in DVD production at BBC Worldwide I remember us looking at these for European markets. What we found was a lot of very dodgy assets - some of the masters looked terrible and there would never be a budget to restore them. SO ... it may take a while before you see all 9 seasons on DVD. A long while - that is unless S.1 sells in huge volumes! That Universal Playback were willing to license this from the BBC at all is worthy but I doubt they'll have paid much for it or make any money on it.

...and there are cuts for some legal reasons (or something like that mentioned on the cases) - I'm guessing this is like other BBC shows that have suffered a similar fate!
Blimey 9 series, I didn't realise it went on so long!
I got the current releases for my grandad, he didn't notice the cuts but he wants the rest NOW! eek!! He can't understand why they are not available.
Old people can be so demanding!!!!!!

I see series 2 is coming to dvd in the UK on August 13th 2007! Better late than never!

I also see that the first 4 series are available in Holland. Does anyone have them and care to comment on the quality? Also can they be played without Dutch subtitles?
(there was another thread about this last year also)

All I rememebr about this show was the great theme music and a pair of cracking sidies on the cap'n..

As a nipper I could never sit through an episode - bored me to sleep..

You cheeky git!
I don't watch it, never have, prolly never will! (I'm 31 now so don't even remember it when it aired) It's for me 87 year old grandfather so I'm trying to get it all for him before he sails off into the sunset!
