Silversun Pickups

Was surprised to find no mention of this band on here, anyway caught my first glimpse of them on Jools Holland a few weeks back and was inpressed enough to checkout the album, it has'nt left my cd payer since and have just ordered a copy from a well known retailer (I do have morals).

If you like early 90s rock in a pumpkins/soundgarden/pixies mould you really should check them out.

My mate was on about them at work yesterday, so I'll need to check them out later. Didn't realise they'd been on Later already.

I've been listening to their album 'Carnavas' for a little while now. I really like the energy crescendo of 'Lazy Eye' and the moody sound of 'Rusted Wheel'

Saw them on Jools a few weeks ago and thought they were pretty good. There is a link from their official webiste to the performances on jools too.

Haven't got their album but they are doing a UK tour in July so I thought I might check them out then.

This lot are sensational! I have just recently discovered them too and meant to post on here about them. I cannot stop playing it though and worry that I will get bored of it (Carnavas), but somehow I don't think that is possible.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant

Oddly cheapest place I found for the album was Virgin in-store £8 with slip case, well worth a listen (bought after seeing them on Later)

My Vitriol - I have their first album. Are they up to anything these days?

Quick update for anyone who is interested, the band have nearly finished recording their second album which will be released next year. Rumoured to be titled Swoon and contain 17 tracks with a more varied sound.

By the way, if anyone didn't check out the b-sides from the first album then I recommend listenin to the song 'Mercury' which completely deserved to be included as an album track.

Have to agree, great band. One of the only few rock bands left who are "doing it right"

And 'Lazy Eye' is featured in both Rock Band 2 AND Guitar Hero: World Tour.

I think I saw these as a support band, one of those that were worth seeing and very impressive live.
