Spongebob Squarepants

For no apparent reason at all, ive developed an interest in seeing this cartoon.

Is it any good for an adult viewer ? or just one for the kids ?

It is currently on terrestrial TV ?

Whats the movie like ?

I believe it is on ITV at some point during the week and also ITV's equivalent to Live and Kicking. That info might be a few months old.

I'm 24 and love Spongebob, I think it appeals to adults as well as kids.

The movie is excellent if you like Spongebob

Im approaching that age, and have developed a strange likeness for the cartoon. I watch it whenever I can on Nickleodeon.

THe movie was great, and I thought it was more geared towards an adult audidence not kids...especially the ending

That's a coincidence as I'm just now about to watch the movie on DVD before giving it to my little nephew.

The TV series (which I got to know on Nickleodeon) is witty, inventive, full of abstract humour, wild ideas and strong characterisations that are wasted solely on kids and the makers clearly planned it that way.

Many US (and other) cartoons are double-layered in this way so that they can be enjoyed by both audiences - they are after all made by adults and that adult to adult dialog inevitably creeps in whether intended from the outset or not.

I have only seen a couple of snippets of the TV show but they were quite funny.. I remember just turning it on and seeing Spongebob pretending to be a bee and flying into a bee's nest going "Greeting comrades" and I couldn't stop laughing.

Have seen the movie twice though, excellent stuff
