Nice!

That said, as much as I like the film and appreciate its monumental place in film history, I don't actually love it enough to spend 500 nicker on a book about it.

It might end up like the last two Taschen Kubrick books where I eventually get the second edition.

If saw this weeks Graham Norton you would have heard Stanley Kubrick asked for Ronnie Corbett to play one of the monkeys! (He didn't)

I adore 2001 and i'm up for any making of book, but that price is insane. I'd be happy with just volume 2 of that set for under £100

Quoting myself here, but in case it's of interest to other folk, the 'pleb version' is now available for £32 (and looks lovely too):

I've had the cheap version in my hands and left it on the shelf: the design of it is awful. Making it look like a monolith is cool in concept, but as service to being a 'book' and the contents, it's nasty.

This information is too late for me, anephric!!

I did sort of garner that from the Amazon reviews...sounds like there are lots of pull out pages which make it a chore to browse through and photos split over seams. I took a punt as it still seems like decent value.
