Never had any doubts me like about the result today.

Still in the relegation zone but a decent result. Looks massively competitive at the bottom this year, after 3 games you've normally got a few teams with none or one point. Can't see Watford being at the bottom come season end, although you never know.

But not that usual to get so many teams with a win on the books

We were dreadful today and Newcastle capitalized on that. Did exactly what Villa did to us - simple, direct ball that split the hapless defence and then successfully parked the bus. Spurs had no ability or willingness to beat a man and get a cross in all game. Just awful. God only knows why Vertonghen, Dier and Erikson are on the bench when Sanchez, lamela and winks are so awful. Have to say though, I was behind the goal and that was a stone dead penalty and it is astonishing that both Ref and VAR turned it down. VAR is the worst introduction to the game ever.

VAR is nice for absolute things like offside and handballs, but for interpreting fouls and penalties they are never going to over-rule the ref on pitch unless it is so obvious they have to.

Which is fine if they don’t check, but checking a clear pen and then waving it through is nuts. As was the ridiculous disallowed City goal against us last week. Farcical.
