name the film from this line

"Gawd bless ya guvnor...and your children"

I have a friend in work who says it all the time and swears it's from a film but he can't remember what film it's from.

Sounds like a British film. How old is your friend and does he recall approximately when he saw that film?

One possibility is that it is not a feature film but the 1986 TV series London's Burning.

Sounds like the kind of line in one of the old Christmas Carol adaptations, or the sort of line Una O'Connor would have in a James Whale film.

it's definitely "cockney" along the lines of something a cockney bootblack would say to an upper class gentlemen who'd just thrown him a shiny sixpence. So potentially Dickensian in era if not actually

he said it could be Mary Poppins, but it's absolutely not Mary Poppins.

It could be worse, it could be the lin "It doesn't do anything, that's the beauty of it"
