It was not just the poster, it was actually the trailer. If they made a spiderman film that was very "mean and moody" then it would no doubt get the same crap. I think people are use to the lighter tone of the MCU (even Infinity war had lighter moments for a film that is actually a bit bleak for the avengers)

The first Infinity War trailer didn't have any humour in it. I don't recall anyone moaning about that. I think that the response was sexist personally but even it wasn't her reaction was most likely out of frustration at such a petty issue.
Even if she did overreact saying she has toxic views is laughable.

So.. after watching the trailers it seems pretty obvious that the character goes through some pretty traumatic experiences.

The idea that she should "smile more" is not just absolutely ridiculous but it also absolutely IS sexiest.

It's the kind of throw away criticism or comment that women have to deal with constantly only then to then be told its not a big deal and isn't a sexiest comment.

Can you imagine anyone saying the same about Robert Downey Junior or Chris Evans?

Put yourself in a womans shoes, it's gotta be infuriating to be told crap like that and then immediately be talked down to about how you don't have a right to interpret it the way you see it.

I'm a little annoyed with Marvel about this one...but I can see why they've done it

the mid credits sting with Nick Fury in Infinity War set up the arrival of Captain Marvel.

There is something like 8 weeks between the release of Captain Marvel and Endgame, therefore there will be no way to see Captain Marvel before Endgame is released on any other medium, so if you want to see Endgame and know who the hell she is, you have to go to the cinema to see Captain Marvel.

I'm very selective about what I pay to see at the cinema these days, money is tight and the cinema experience can be hit or miss due to issues laid out in another thread here. For me, Captain Marvel wasn't an essential cinema visit and I would be happy to wait for it to appear on other media but Endgame is but I'm feeling to enjoy endgame properly, I'll have to see Captain Marvel first.

I think Captain Marvel for Marvel is more of an unknown box office wise with it being the first female led movie, and a relatively unknown character compared to the heavier hitters we saw pre Infinity War. By releasing them so close to each other, they're almost forcing people to go to the cinema to see it whether they want to or not...

Amazingly as an actress she isn't playing herself in Captain Marvel but a character. Are you a big baby about every actor who says things in real life that you might not like or is it just Brie Larsen?

Nope but she's another actor/actress that seems to think her opinions matter in real life and I can't be doing with that. Just stick to the acting.

Why do you allow yourself an opinion in real life then? Why don't you just shut up and stick to whatever you do?

I'm not a "famous person" standing on a pedestal though.

So once someone is famous they are no longer a human being and are not allowed opinions of any kind? I would imagine you have nothing say if a famous person publicly states their opinion if they are saying something you agree with though. I apologise if I missed your condemnation of Michael Caine publicly stating his pro Brexit opinions in another thread.

It's a bit like essentially shouting someone down online because they dare to have a different opinion...

That layout pretty much gets the feel of 90's geocities/yahoo pages just about perfect
