It was Recovering the Satellites wasn't it?

So, where are the bargains to be had? Or is the jig up and everyone selling any vinyl on eBay putting their prices up just because they know someone will buy it?

If you're just starting out, I'd recommend going to a record fair. Lots of decent quality stuff for reasonable prices - I dunno, let's say AC/DC albums for a fiver rather than £14 in HMV.

True, and the records will be correctly graded (& possibly cleaned), so you know they'll pretty much sound as good as new VG+ / EX. Plus, it'll open you up to all those old albums that you never had.

Also, check out *proper* second hand record shops.

Ressurecting an old thread, just got round to replacing my 30yr old £50 Bush with a £200 Pro-Ject Primary e phono and enjoying it very much. Even an old Sensational Alex Harvey Band album I’ve had for well over 40 years sounds great.

Haven't the electrons been tainted by the cable insulation over that time removing some of the warmth of the lower notes?

My. nephew came round with one of those suitcase turntables he'd got as a gift (looking for records). Him and the kids had great fun just putting records on and off, rather than just streaming from phone.

No quality discussions, just joy!
