Isn't it nice that whether you win, lose or draw, you hold the entire destiny of Liverpool's campaign in your hands. Lose as you helped them lose it, win and you fundamentally gave them their best shot at the title for 29 years.

Well, we obviously want to win to keep smouldering any hope we have of finishing top four...but, should we lose we at least have the consolation of hurting Liverpool's chances (...is it really 29 years ).

All I remember is at my school in the 80's everyone was a Liverpool fan except me (forest fan) and about two Man Utd fans, they were insufferable.

It's as if nobody wants that last CL place, Arsenal losing 3-0

To hell with Liverpool. If they win the league, then so be it. We can win this and Arsenal are falling to bits. We need to convert this decent spell into something because they will score.

You do wonder if we can keep this pace up, the players fitness levels have been criticised recently. We really need to get the ball to Rashford at every opportunity...we can actually win this!

7 defeats in the last 9 apparently we haven't done that since 1962!!!

...at least we played better tonight

...we've also conceded the most goals we have in a season since 1979

Sounds hit the nail on the head with what he said at the end there - United don't seem to have the players who will work their socks off for the team. Maybe Rashford, but apart from him, I can't think of any. Wonder how long it will be before your management wakes up and realises that they way to spend money is to buy potential and not shell out huge money for players who have done it in the past but are past their peak?

Comfortable in the end for us.

Gary Neville desperately trying to put a gloss on it but Roy Keane sums it up: City worked harder over the 90 minutes and we've got a team of Paul JogBacks.

The players appear to have given up caring at the moment, and so have I.

There's something deeply rotten at the core of this squad that goes beyond just Pogba.
Keane is right, they are willing to throw the manager under the bus; they did with Mourinho and they are now doing it to Solskjaer.

How they can turn it on when he was first appointed and have now switched off again is nothing short of disgraceful.

A mass clear-out is required, which will take a few seasons, unfortunately.

The only positive is that we may have dented Liverpool's title challenge, but that's just schadenfreude, which is scant comfort.

Pogba has made it into the PFA Team of the Year, further proving that football has jumped the shark.

Liverpool and City far away the best two teams this year, Pogba wouldn't get a game in either team with his form this year.

I'm with Max - it's hard to get excited for this particular bunch of multi-millionaires who say the right words but then saunter around the pitch looking at each other to do the chasing and the hounding and the running. Sanchez touched the ball once when he came on last night.

I'd sell at least 8 of them without a second thought.

Looks like Valencia, Herrera, and Mata are going anyway.
I'd sell Pogba, Sanchez, Jones, Young, Darmian, and Bailly right away.
I'd keep Matic and Smalling for the numbers, but Andreas Pereira isn't up to it, so I'd get rid of him too, and Martial and Lukaku, who are far too incosistent.

De Gea is an interesting one; he's been poor over recent weeks, which is perplexing seeing he's trying to negotiate a mega new deal, unless he's trying to engineer a move away (if he is, then he can go too), but it's hardly making to the likes of Real Madrid.

If he goes, I'd stick with Romero, who's been faultless in his attitude and is a solid keeper, I'd bring in younger players and promote the likes Chong and Greenwood, who are more likely to put in effort than a lot of the current crop.

One thing I noticed last night which seems to have spread to the whole team now (started with Pogba early this season) is the blame shifting when on the ball.

Every single one of our players last night, when they had the ball at their feet, threw their arms up as if to say 'where is the pass??' - compare that to City who were simply making quick passes without a hint of complaining.

The irony is every Utd player had options available, but seemingly wanted to make a point of moaning that there wasn't a player directly in front of them to pass to?

It's as if they are saying to the crowd 'look at me, I have the ball and no one wants it, whatever happens next is not my fault' which comes across as individuals just playing for themselves.

Making excuses before we have surrendered possession is a new one on me!

Honestly the only explanation I can fathom is that they've all got CL qualification failure release clauses. So they wanted to show they could play but not get to the CL.

I'd certainly think about cashing in on Pogba et al while they've still got some marketability.

Weirdly, I'm sure I read that they do have CL clauses, but they are bonus related, so they won't be getting them!

I have trouble believing any club would hand out release clauses for failure to qualify for the CL.
