Not seeing the issue about Pogba, he didn't join you because he enjoys walking round the Lowry Outlets did he? He signed for you for massive money, and seems to be one of those players out for the money, the way you do it, is either squeezing your current team but the best way is to join someone else every year or so. Just working round the top teams.

Probably some gullible clubs might even sign him twice.

have a feeling "useless Ed" as MaxNutter put it, was probably told not to spend bucketloads on players the next manager might not want, as let's face it, Mourinho might not be here come January if he thinks he can't win anything, and he is not a manager that cares enough about the clubs he manages to build for a future he's not a part of, so spending Ł50m+ on 29 year old defenders makes little sense if he won't be around for much longer. It has been ridiculous though, being linked to players that end up at lesser clubs. I have to assume that we were never actually going for them, but it make a mockery of the club a bit, for instance to appear to have lost out to Everton for a central defender like Mina, and to be used by Godin's agent to get a better contract.

I'm surprised JM is still there, he seemed to be doing his "sack me" routine for most of the season.

i was sick of him quite a while ago, probably when he started slagging off players in the press, would be over the moon if he was sacked regardless of what position it leaves the club in. In most jobs he'd have been sacked by now gross misconduct, but football is in it's own world.

Woodward trusted LVG and bought his targets and he was never going to be in it for the long haul.

Woodward is worse than Cuddly Pete.
He's been obsessed with signing players such as Bale and Ronaldo, presumably for their marketability, and failed miserably.

However, the root of the issue is the Glaziers. They're only interested in building commercial partnerships to service the debt, and as long as they can still do this, why spend?

As for the players we were linked with, I doubt we were after many of them, we're always linked with dozens of players every window because it fills column inches.

Win this & we go top tonight, & if we can win the rest of our matches we take the title.

Seriously guys? You've won the first game, I didn't catch the final score and had assumed there was a great comeback in the final 10 minutes and you'd lost, just checked and you won.

It's the first game of the season, both Liverpool and Man City are likely to look decent. Maybe it's time to consider changing allegiance to a team that better suits your requirement to win every game 10-0.

Do we really have to listen to you all whinge, even if you win the title?

I thought there was a decent performance in there, pinged the ball around nicely and Fred looked good.

Wow the only two people on the planet who think we played well. Just about every forum I read said we played poor & would not want to go through that again, radio 5, Talk sport, various presenters all said the same, we were poor.
If I saw the result only & it was 2-1, I would have been happy. If I watched us play well & won a good team 2-1, I would be happy, BUT NEITHER HAPPENED. We played poor & were lucky we did not lose. The only whingers on these forums are those that try to belittle honest caring fans, for dareing to speaking out about what they, & just about everyone else watched.

My team started with two draws after spending like bandits, I'd be ecstatic starting with a win against a decent Leicester side.

I'm not saying it was the greatest performance, but you won and played alright. Always shaky at the start of the season, the BBC pundits seem to think there are plenty of positives.

If you're going to take to message boards every time an attack breaks down or they fluff a pass, you're going to have a miserable time as a fan.

I don't recall in living memory when Man United would have met your standards of play, each year they fail to win every game, drop a few points, etc.

So why not just sack it off and go and support Celtic who probably have the best chance of winning their league.

I never said we played well overall, just that, at times we looked good.

I'm happy with 3 points, especially after all the fuss around the end of the transfer window, which could have proved to be a distraction.
