This - I actually thought it was a done deal to City, before the player came out and said he wanted to go to Liverpool

Whilst they apologised, did they actually admit tapping up? TBH I'm confused what the club have apologised for. They should have actually said, we didn't tap up the player, but we apologise for not refuting the media speculation up till now.

I'm making the assumption that they have apologised for something that they believed that they have done wrong. Im confused also, I just wondered what people thought on here. City have made a great start to the transfer window but I hope we're not thinking of paying £50M+ for Virgil.

The amount of money we have spent at southampton at this point we should just go for a hostile takeover and just buy out southampton completely.

This story is dumb as **** and I would put money on Van Dijk being a Liverpool player by the end of the summer. Also Bertrand

Why? it's not your money and 50 million to the Sheikhs is like 50p to you or i.

True, but I'd rather see us persevere with Stones or even give Mangala another shot. £27M for Jesus? Looks like a bargain. Similarly, £37M for Sane looks good. The way he ran rings around us for Monaco, £43M for Bernardo Silva might look very reasonable come the end of the summer. But even with the millions flying around, I want to see some sense of (relative) value. I just don't see Van Dijk in that £50M bracket.

Mixed fixture list IMHO - no real space to put a run together (almost every month has at least one game against a Top 6 team) except for the run-in where, on paper, Chelsea (A) is the only hard game after mid-March.

4 home games in December (and, possibly, a CL home game in there as well) is going to be a nightmare on the wallet

"On Paper", last season i imagine you had Bournemouth,Hull,Burnley Away as easy games, as well as Swansea,Bournemouth & Palace home. You've seen enough games to know on paper counts for zilch

True.

Also ... got to laugh at the 'random' fixture list generator (a) putting the Manchester AND Merseyside derbies on the same day ... TWICE and (b) having us play Arsenal twice before we have played Swansea once.

Salah has finally signed and, in other news, the CPS will announce next week if any individuals and/or organisations will face charges over Hillsborough

The members sale was the usual waste of time - it is annoying because it is so easy for the club to sort out.

The ACS sale was so easy compared to the last few days.

LOL - have MPs not got enough to worry about?

Also, if it is against PL rules for a club to offer a school boy the payment of their school fees then why are Stoke still being allowed to do it ?

And

The Premier League held an investigation into a claim that the 12-year-old was offered a forbidden inducement to move from the Potters last summer, with the serious allegation made that Liverpool reneged on an agreement to pay his school fees when they did not sign him
Why on earth would Liverpool be expected to pay the school fees of someone they haven't signed

But its alleged am agreement was made before the kid started school and Loverpool changed the date from 2 to 21 that the dad signed.

The real issue is that there is some talented kid who can't play football at the moment. Whatever the rights or wrongs/ whose guilty of what, the FA should do whatever it takes to allow him to play for a club.

It's not illegal I think, they just have to offer it to all their kids I think

Anyone got any knowledge of how 'late' the stadium tour, in the lead up to a home game, takes in the actual home dressing room rather than the away one made to look like the home one?
