Justice shouldn't take 27 years.
All debate on the subject now over, just cold hard facts in place.
Full respect to people who never gave up.

Good news. Hopefully the families and friends can now begin to get some closure at last.

CPS now considering criminal proceedings. Anything will be too little, too late, but at least the families finally have some sort of justice.

Can't believe it's been 27 years, I was 17 at the time. Utterly disgraceful.

No doubt that will happen (along with many others ) when the process starts.

Got rid of one chuckle**** from our defence due to drugs violations. Now to eject the abominably slow Kolo Toure would be a blessing. Mind you Skrtel is no better.

IMHO losing Sakho is a big blow to the club - he was beginning to form a good partnership with Lovren (who has also started looking like the player, we thought we were buying, under Klopp)

Rumour has it Skrtel is off to Turkey

Sakho playing the line constantly played strikers onside . Awful!

Fantastic news yesterday. The hurdles they've had to overcome to get it this far have been amazing.

I see all papers put it on their front page apart from The Sun and The Times.

Scum.

Good article from the BBC.

In 'fairness', it seems a lot of The Times reporters, particularly on the sports desk, kicked up a fuss, hence The Times's apology and altered second edition front page.

Listened to half of a 2 hour podcast from R5L on my way in to work this morning. Presented by Kelly Cates with a couple of survivors and David Conn from The Guardian. It's harrowing stuff but really interesting. Will finish on the way home.

I don't blame the whole workforce. It's obviously something that would have come from the top. There was a huge backlash on Twitter and you could tell that some of the Times reporters felt really let down about it.

Good article about it...

Kelly Cates presented a special show on R5L about Hillsborough - can download a 1h50m podcast of it here:

The Liverpool FC Thread 2015/2016

30 day ban for failing a drugs test..! Am sure that's going to create some discussion. In effect a 3 game ban (as he wasnt suspended for the last couple).

I've only seen the headline, not the detail, but it would have appeared the precident was Toure who got 6 months.

Edit - looks like this is a suspension prior to a decision, which makes it appear somewhat more serious.

It says suspended for 30 days whilst UEFA opens a case, so suspect a heavy ban to follow....

I have to say, I don't agree with a suspension prior to any guilt being established. If its in the players best interests (state of kind etc) then the club can/ and has decided not to play him.

On the basis he hasn't disputed it (which is a very rare thing for any football related disciplinary), a suspension seems in order

Assuming he took the same stuff Traore did then he should get handed a 6 month ban, 30 days of which he has now started serving
