Unless City go on a massive run, I'd have thought another 10 wins would be enough. I can't really see how you can mess it up that badly.

City matched their longest winning run in the League (this season) yesterday ... 3 games.

12 wins guarantees the title. 10 would also almost be enough - provided one of them was against City

Still a long way to go but let's put things into perspective ...

Last season, against a far far better City than this season's one, we were only 7 points ahead with more games to go and went on to lose the league by a single point. When City dropped points, last season, they were all in the space of about a month; this season they have not shown any evidence of being able to put the sort of sustained run together that they'd need (16+ wins in a row)

We still have a couple of tricky games left this month but City's fixtures for Feb and March for far more worse than ours.

Sky need to maintain the narrative that it isn't.

I don't think I have ever seen quite so much analysis over an innocuous ( and totally inconclusive ) throw in decision or non-handball incident.

I don't think that's got anything to do with Liverpool, more the calamatous freshman season that VAR is having.

Although you do seem to be getting all the decisions

Apart from the ones we didn’t get

And I don’t think any of the recent decisions are controversial?

Or the ones which went against us including decisions which mean we don't actually have a 100% record

I'd love to think we could beat you on Thursday night, but our propensity for going behind in games (7 in a row now) means we will do well to get anything. Though we do have the best record in the league from losing positions, and we beat Man City from 2-0 down at home, so maybe...

Another game we should have had wrapped up much earlier and ended with a nervy finish, but we'll worth the win, a so very satisfying late second, great strength from Salah and lovely assist from Alison. Makes such a difference having a keeper that can distribute like he does.

Still a long way you go.......

Wolves will be tough, Traore is a beast, looks so hard to play against, wouldn't look out of place on a rugby pitch

Wolves away is a hard game, I keep thinking "we win this adn that's it" then we win and I think "okay, next win and that's it"

16 points clear would require a catastrophic collapse that i think only Liverpool are capable of Really it's if we lost VVD, everyone else we pretty much have a serviceable stand in for.

On yesterdays game, my main complaint was the disallowed goal, A) because it was clearly not a foul and B) because it denied Bobby a blinder. Had that stood, I think MU would've collapsed.

It was a foul IMO, thought the first half time argument between Souness, Keane and Evra was funny.

Losing VvD might have been an issue a couple of months ago but, hopefully, with both Fabinho and Matip back now we could handle it now - or at least handle it to an extent where we won't drop 18 points

Oh, and it was never a foul on DdG - especially when you consider he is back up and set before Firmino shoots so he is not impeded in the final phase of play.

Love the tweet I saw last night ... "LFC fans saying 'its not over yet', whilst at the same wondering how they can book off every Monday in March and April"

I didn’t see it as a foul. Eyes were on the ball the whole time, he didn’t jump into De Gea at all, it was a genuine attempt to win the ball.

Just because there is contact doesn’t make it a foul.

Evra couldn’t have been less convincing!

I really cannot see such a catastrophic collapse. I'd have thought even if you took over the indifferent form of Man Utd, you'd probably still have enough to do it, mostly because there doesn't look like a team about to put a 16 game winning streak together.

I'd have thought Man City will concentrate on the CL.

Man City can't even put a 4 game winning run together this season

If anything, you might see a tail off in results once the title is won, and if we are still in the cup competitions, as Klopp starts rotating the team to keep the first XI fresh for Europe. Similarly, if we are still in it I would expect more first XI players to play in the FA Cup in the later rounds.

There was an article on the BBC when you might win it, at Everton if the current form of City and Liverpool keep going, or at City itself if City pull themselves together a bit.

That article assumes LFC get knocked out of the FA Cup pretty sharpish. We need 10 more wins if City don't drop any more points at the same time; City away is the 10th game but the 9th game is scheduled for the weekend of the FA Cup 6th Round so would be postponed, til after the City game, if we are still in the competition.

Similarly, if current form is maintained then it will take 9 wins for LFC to win the title - which is the game after Everton.

Interesting stat after Sunday's result ... after 22 games, LFC have 12 more points than Arsenal's invincibles of 2004 and 23(!) more than United's treble winners of 1999.
