We have had a good start. I didn't think, before the Norwich game, that we'd be the only 100% in the league at this point.

Adrian hasn't been a complete disaster, like Migs probably would have been, but it will be good to have Alisson back (hopefully) against Newcastle.

Can't be upset about our CL group either

Ł10M for Kent and Duncan isn't too shabby either.

Awful for 20 minutes then pretty much perfect. No surprise, for me, that Firmino's introduction changed the game

We played ok after a slow start.,some of Newcastle's players were literally out on their feet in the second half.

That was an outrageous bit of skill by Firmino to set up Salah for our 3rd goal.

In other news, Robertson is a doubt for tomorrow but no real surprise that Origi didn't even travel

Going to back to the Roma semi we've lost 6 of our last 8 away games in the CL.makes it even more astonishing we won the thing.

When you can beat Barcelona 4-0 at home, who cares about away games

6 away defeats in 8 tells its own story but so does 2 CL Final appearances in a row

We should have more than enough to get 9/10 points from Salzburg and Ghenk

We shouldn't need to beat Napoli at home unless we want to win the group - which, in many cases in the past, has been shown to actually be a disadvantage.

Poor result aside ... that save from Adrian in the second half

I’d rather Liverpool win this game but, really, VAR is just killing the game of football for me. Ludicrous decisions this weekend.

What correctly ruling out goals for offside ?

Yeah, you're right. The rules being properly and consistently applied now is definitely killing the game.

Yes it is. The rules were not designed to be applied by computers but by humans in real time. The offside rule was not introduced to stop a toenail getting beyond the last man.

And they drew the line from the defenders foot rather than his hand that was outstretched from his body. At least if they are going to use technology use it right!!

The offside rule is fairly simple - is any part of your body ( that you can play the ball with ) closer to the goal line than any part of the penultimate defender's body ( that they can play the ball with ) ? If the answer is yes - no matter how small the distance - then you are offside. Quite simple really and VAR is clearly helping to get the marginal decisions consistently correct.

And it wasn't just a toenail - Mount's entire lower leg was offside.

When I used to play Pro Evo and it gave offsides for being pixels offside I didn't think it was killing the (video) game back then. And I don't think it is killing the real life one now.

I just wish it was applied fairly and evenly. For Everton's second goal against us the other week there looked a good shout for offside in the buildup. However there was no proper check and certainly no dotted lines and analysing it to the pixel. The ref just played straight on with the kickoff.

It's still susceptible to getting a completely useless ref doing it. As example by them missing the handball for a Newcastle goal, which is beyond excusable.

Hands and arms don't count for offside. Learn the rules.

Are you Ian Holloway in disguise?

Hanging on for most of the 2nd half. Salah was largely anonymous and Firmino kept giving the ball away towards the end. Still, since Tyler was desperate for Chelsea win all game ... who cares 3pts is 3pts.
