Mr Robot

Wow. I went into the pilot episode basically knowing it was a new TV show about hackers. This is so much more than that. A deeply flawed, but likeable protagonist and an involving and fascinating plot. It was apparently conceived as a movie initially, so the basic start middle and ending is already in place. I really , REALLY liked this and can't wait for episode 2.

Is this a leaked pilot or a genuine freebie?

The official broadcast date isn't until the 24th June in the US.

I was intrigued by the plot description but then got worried when I saw Christian Slater headlining. Normally that means cancellation!

I thought exactly the same thing!

I love the guy, but US tv audiences clearly don't!

Genuine release.

YouTube Link

This is getting very good reviews, so I'm hopeful that we will see much more of this.

That's the freaky looking fella from The Pacific isn't it?

Don't know why but watching him makes me uncomfortable, it's like looking at the face of death or something.

Not seen him in that but I remember him from 'The War at Home' in which he was a highlight, he's very dark in this. Looking forward to ep 2

Decent pilot, but I hope the Big Bad is a bit more developed than Evil Capitalist 1%ers.

Wow! How good was this? Loved every element, especially the direction & soundtrack. All gelled nicely together. Was it just me or did they go for the look/feel of a Fincher movie, especially the likes of Social Network. The cinematography, colour palette & at times I thought the soundtrack was very Reznor/Ross.

Only bummer is we have weeks to wait for more!

Directed by Niels Arden Oplev the Danish director of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Loved the pilot. Agree with TonyG, it felt a lot like a Fincher movie. Which can only be a good thing.

Gloria Reuben has aged very well.

Already renewed for Season-Two!

I guess it worked out well releasing the fantastic pilot for free.

Fingers-crossed the remainder of the series is just as good...

Just watched the first one. Thought it was really good.

As said, hopefully the bad guys turn out to be interesting.

A very different second episode and it threw me off for a little while, but seeing them flesh out most of the characters ultimately left me very intrigued and more interested in where this is going. The video released by F-Society made me groan at first with it's obvious allusions to Anonymous, but the realisation that F-Society were deliberately hamming it up because that's what the media want to portray such groups as was both clever and amusing.

Have we seen anyone other than Elliot address Mr Robot directly yet? I think they're playing with the Tyler Durden angle a little bit to toy with us personally.
