No wonder people don't bother watching TV.
Absolutely. One of the things that does my nut in about American TV.

It's annoying, at least if you've got a decent digibox it always picks it up but SKY+ is pretty bad at it, and I spend loads of time manually sticking in recordings.

Things like Castle,Mentalist,Chicago Fire and 24 dont work well with month long breaks between runs...Is it any wonder why viewing figurts suffer.People think I'll catch that series in one go either by BT or your Netflix's.

The thing about March Madness is how mad the lack of shows makes me, still HBO doesn't show BB does it?

Cracking episode this week. He's got some 'truck nuts' on him I'll give him that.

They make light of the fact that he's probably on a 'list' now but I wonder just how many 'lists' John Oliver's name is on as he doesn't really care who or what organisations he ****** off.

Great interview though, seemed a little trivial on the surface but it pretty much explained it in a nut shell at base level.

I was a bit disappointed TBH. I know the show is a comedy at heart but I felt the Snowden interview should have had a more serious tone because, heck, it's Edward Snowden he's interviewing - that's a massive coup. Crack all the jokes you want afterwards in the studio, but don't waste a golden opportunity to talk to the guy.

I have to disagree, by breaking it down to "can you see my dick pic" again, as with net neutrality, he's taken a very complex (and boring) subject and turned it into something the average Yank can understand.

I don't think the "average Yank" will be watching the show.

Just catching up on the last few episodes of this. Due to some of the stories it doesn't always engage me, but when it does it's inspired.

A recent highlight was the Japanese mascots story. One thing bugging me -what is the music playing when they bring out the real mascots for US departments (around 5 mins in the Youtube clip below)? - it's very John Carpenter/80's synth and I know I've heard it before but can't place it...

It's really old music, i remember it being used a lot in late 70's and early 80's for loads of things especially on the BBC. I don't think it's from a movie at all

EDIT - Didn't "You Bet!" on ITV used to use this??

On that note i wish ITV would bloody stop using the theme to "Requiem of a Dream" for anything dramatic, it's ruined a great piece of music for me

If only they knew how inappropriate it is
