Took delivery of my sub this morning and the thing that struck me was the size of the thing; its much bigger than I had anticipated (which was good) and it is certainly instant eye candy (I know people are aware of what it looks like but it really is photogenic!).

The sound test sent powerful vibrations through my floor and having listened to some music first, I immediately loved the smoothness of the bass tones, very complimentary to the audio and not at all aggressive.

Tonight me and the other half will screen Interstellar on my new 60" LG LED TV and I have held off watching it until now, so I cannot wait...

If anybody considering one has any reservations I can say without any doubt it is worth every penny.

Well the sub had it's debut last night and all I can say is holy cow! Having had a pretty decent home cinema system prior to switching to Sonos, my KEF sub was in many respects a worthy piece of kit, but nothing and I mean nothing prepared me for what happened during Interstellar .

I know owners here will readily testify, the literal 'shaking' of the room is by no means a theatrical throwaway comment, because my living room, nay entire front of house vibrated and shook like I've never felt before, and that was just a taste of what was to come...

For those that have seen the film, the black hole scene later delivered bass effects way beyond what I thought was possible for a wireless unit, and I am utterly blown away by the sheer power this thing throws out! (I'm considering watching Saving Private Ryan next but I suspect I run the risk of suffering 'shell shock' )

It's hard to find the right superlatives to describe how different the Sonos sub is to traditional subwoofers (for my part at least). I felt immersed and enveloped by the LFE and its that feeling which elevates the whole movie watching experience while immediately justifying the price tag, and I'm so glad I invested in it now.

My overall verdict? Absolutely bloody amazing and I now have the privilege of re-watching my entire blu-ray collection as if it were the first time...

Crikey, that's a good price for both the playbar and speakers , I definitely recommend buying the wall mount plate for the playbar, I know it sounds like a lot of money for a piece of metal, but it makes life much easier for mounting and removal (if needed). I initially had my playbar hanging directly from the wall and I'm very pleased I used the wall mount when my new TV arrived...when you said amp did you mean sub?

Quick question please. Already got sonos in house. Got a soundbar on the way, I don't need a bridge do I?

I don't think it's compulsory but I bought one anyway, just to make sure there are no signal dropouts...

Pretty sure you only need a bridge if you are setting up a 5.1 system (think you don't need it until you get the sub)

I got one for it anyway and it works a treat

Sonos are doing 2 Play 1s in a bundle for £300 at the moment;
http://www.sonos.com/en-gb/shop/prod...om-starter-set

Not as cheap as no flipping's incredible price from Italy, but for anyone preferring to buy from the UK it's a good price.
