Last Blood at just over 80 minutes long this feels a lot longer. I'm of the camp that thinks part 4 ended the series; Rambo returning home once and for all. This is really slow for the first two acts building up the bad guy etc. The last act is over very quickly in comparison. Get The Gringo was a much better film by this director so don't know what went wrong here.

2.5/5 Should have left it at 4

Violent City Charles Bronson with Jill Ireland and Telly Savalas who shows up over and hour in and is barely in it anyway but gets second billing. Italian made but shot in America Bronson is a hitman double crossed and goes about looking for revenge. Quite reminiscent of Mel Gibson's Payback, a few uncomfortable scenes with his usual female lead Jill Ireland spoil it as they are quite unnecessary.

3/5

Jaws Oldie but still good; the Shark is a bit naff but its still miles better and more believable than Deep Blue Sea and the Meg

Mission Impossible BR - The first in Tom C's action fest this one feels more like the series than any that followed as each subsequent installment cuts down on the intrigue and ups the action. In retrospect it does have a similar flaw to Last Jedi and Force Awakens in that a beloved character Jim Phelps is thrown under the bus for a new whipper-snapper to take over.

Captain Marvel NOWTV - Second viewing seemed to go through faster the first two acts are OK but the final act is a mess and the film suffers for it. Still feel men (not including the skrulls) are portrayed as idiots or scumbags in this. Why are all her flashbacks have men giving her a hard time even her own father gives her grief after an accident instead of rushing her to the hospital.

48 Hrs NOWTV - Old action/Thriller from the 80s Nick Nolte gets first billing here but that would change for the sequel as Eddie Murphy's star was on the rise. Walter Hill's early work still seem far better than anything he put out in the last 19 years which is a shame

Gemini Man De-aged Will Smith looks very good not as good as Nick Fury's but still very good. However... that must be where all the money went cos the story is crap and some of the CGI is atrocious. Example The Fresh Prince and Lucy McClaine are sitting at a table one shot is live the second the background is CGI and its noticeable just as bad as some of the backgrounds in the Mechanic 2. The bike fight is terrible. There is a scene of someone dressed like the ninja vampires in Blade 2 and the animation of him running about and jumping is no better than what was used back then. Avoid

The Take Billy Dee Williams movie from the 70's Is he a good cop? is he really on the take? its not too cut and dried. Worth a look but unfortunately old BDW peaked with Nighthawks and the Empire Strikes back/Return Of The Jedi

3/5

Another 48 Hours NOW TV Oh Dear Nick Nolte still the better actor of the two but his name comes second cos Eddie Murphy in on top at this point but he cannot save this movie its a weak sequel to a film that didn't need one. Convoluted connection to the first requires a brother who is never mentioned in the first to come back and seek revenge years later. Also turning a good character into some kind of evil super criminal hiding in plane sight was just

We saw jumanji today. Which is just the thing if you have either counted votes last night or done a land law exam. Luckily we had done those things!
It’s pretty okay, quite a few switches of the original but really just version 1.5. Maybe a now tv watch unless you are unlimited.

Spiderman: Into The Spider Verse NOWTV get pass the animation style and this was very enjoyable.

5/5

Angel Has Fallen Third time out for the guy who's unluckier than John McLaine. Far better than the previous entry. Effects are not to bad this time compared to the first one. Nick Nolte is on hand doing his scruffy bearded father figure just like in Hulk.

What I wish this series and other action movies would stop doing is when bad guys are shooting up the place; police ask them to stop before even firing shot then they get killed themselves when the bad guys obviously don't decide to surrender.

Jacobs Ladder Remake NOW TV Just don't even bother with this

Play Dirty BR - Michael Caine leads a ragtag groups of mercs on a mission to destroy Rommel's fuel dump. Facing numerous perils along the way the entire group who are written off by their commanders still fight on.

The good guys are not portrayed as good guys normally are - a far more grittier portrail than the Dirty Dozen would ever dare to do.

4/5

The Destructors BR - Michael Caine is a hitman hired by his old friend a offical at the US embassy in France after a drg dealer kills several of his employees. Anthony Quinn is the friend and its really his movie. Roy Budd (Get Carter) provides the score

3/5

John Wick 3 Netflix - I'm glad I waited for this on Netflix cos its awful. I liked the first one, The second not so much so.

Over 2 hours of non stop violence and little actual action. The plot such as it is; is wafer thin. And the digital effects for the blood splatter and guns firing is becoming cliche either use real squips or don't bother.

The first was a neat idea retired hitman loses wife and dog goes on a rampage seeking vengance. Gets it; film ends done and dusted. Now third movie in and JW having done a bad thing is on the Run with every hitman afterhim except we bearly see any other hitman or hitwoman we have an asian gang going round killing everything with knives and swords. And more lore than we needed - first it was the money they used then the marker and high table, now we have adjudicators and some guy who makes the coins and another guy who is supposed to run it all.

The longer it goes on the more the myth around JW seems to evaporate in the first people were scared of just his name the guy that killed somemone with a pencil. Completed the impossible task in one night etc etc. Yet every lowlife with a knife tries to take a piece of him.

Rip off scene from The Good the Bad and the Ugly and Desperado were unecessary but the latter highlighted one of my big gripes this - JW is shooting up the place and ends up facing off against two guys but all their guns are empty so they all reload at the same time except the bad guy on the floor reloads first and waits for JW to shoot him when JW was dead to rights.

Hallie Berry has a similar situation beats a guy on the ground who lies there both hands free while she grabs a gun and shots him in the face. Another guy goes at her; gets shot squarely in the chest and is shown to be bleeding unphased attacks her just as forcefully until shot in the head.

And my biggest gripe is no one reacts when people are killed in a public place no cops nothing.

And The Dark Knight Rises Award for jetting halfway around the world in record time goes to JW who gets to Casablanca from with New York in such record time that the blood on his shirt still looks bright red.

Imperial Stormtrooper award goies to every badguy in this movie with a gun that fails to get one shot to hit Hallie Barry or JW

And with all the stuff going on back home I was genuinely confused as to how much time had passed his beard had not grown any he neither sat down to eat of take a kip anywhere.

And last why are the feminists not outraged that the majority of killers in these movies are MEN

Joker

Only recently saw this as missed at the cinema, great film as its a typical super villain film. Phoenix is great as the Joker as different take and its not like its hero vs villain. Also shows how mental health is important. Some users reviews moaned how Joker will be too old to fight Batman later on, its not that sort of film

Then you had these trashy "woke" websites that really had it in for the film, as it didn't fit their views and agenda . they said it "will lead to alt right shootings!!!!!!111111" they were talking crap of course but they were actually praying for mass shooting because of this film Disgusting people. So they kept on releasing articles trying to attack the film. There is massive difference between the critics and the audience score

the film - 9/10

Little monsters
Australian zombie film that mixes comedy and a bit of gore. Its actually quite good. Good cast and Josh gadd is great as the complete arse of a person in a zombie film, worth a rental if you like the genre

7.7/10

Rambo last blood
Heard it was not very good, shame as the last one (just called Rambo iirc) was really good. Stallone is a bit too old but does well for his age

Didn't like the film until the last 30 or so minutes, when it goes full on

4/10
