City fan, singular, the rest are armchairs too. You maybe also failed to notice that it was an away game so many united season ticket holders wouldn't be at the game either .....besides that your post was great

Maybe still enjoying the result and not feeling the need to spout bitterness on forums.

Wow a hugely successful team who have won 19 top leauge titles have a huge following. Probably most who have never been near OT.

But its no shock, they will probably most be City "fans" in a few years as is their like

I've been hearing that joke, since about 1993. Yet other than kids, I've never met anyone who has switched from Utd to another team.

The best thing is that ore argui ith amliverpool fan, and he's defending Utd!

Its a fact of life unfortunately. Young kids latch onto a succesful team, if they remain young they may switch to another successful team but there is a good chance they remain loyal to the team they latched onto.

When I was a kid everyone supported Liverpool, when I was older the younger kids supported Man Utd with a few Blackburn Rovers as well (it was 95, we lived localish).

Without a parent to push them in the right direction, its what happens.

Glory supporting is what makes people pick a team initially, but I honestly don't think many change. For one thing they would get the micky taken at school

What a result, Kompany, Barry, Yaya were all immense. Everyone put in a shift last night that's for sure.

Silva did seem a little absent from the play, im not sure if he was being marked well or just not on form/injured a bit.

Those end 5 mins were utterly nerve racking, just waiting for the typical last minute goal from United.

Now on to Newcastle, Its going to be another major game, Newcastle/Spurs and Arsenal all fighting for 3rd to try to guarantee CL in case Chelsea win the CL.

With Newcastle winning tonight that could play right into our hands. If they come to attack City they could be in for a nasty surprise waiting for them.

I do like Newcastle and would love another Northern team in the CL but not at the expense of City. Had some great away days there

It's all stacking up to a big dramatic end to the season. Fingers and toes crossed

Are we using the standard english dictionary, or the DY dictionary? What MCFC are doing is not 'cheating'.

This forum's quite odd - IRL most non-city supporting fans were supporting city on Monday (anecdotal evidence from various bars that I was in, Man United supporting friends were in, etc).

Interesting that this forum produces so much anti-city sentiment.

IRL most non-City supporting fans I've come across hate what City is doing to the game and are desperate to see them fail, so perhaps it depends where you are in the UK. But based on my anecdotal evidence the sentiments on the Forums aren't at all odd and are mirrored elsewhere. The only people who are struggling are the Liverpool fans I know who'd rather forget Premiership football exists at all this season!

I love how they don't care what people think and are so certain it is all legit and sportsmanlike behaviour but, yet again, clutching at straws. Tragic really, all that money just to feel the dead, hollow thrill of purchase.

Why should we care what others are thinking when no one cares what we are thinking?!

Sorry, I'll spell it out. It amuses me that you pretend not to care what people think

But my anecdotal evidence shows that most don't care what City are doing to the league, probably because they feel that we have seen teams outspend their rivals in order to win the EPL with Utd, Blackburn, Leeds (Ok that didn't work out so well) and Chelsea before them. The big Italian teams in the 90s did the same, Barcelona and Real Madrid are doing this as well now. They do like the fact that it's making it a lot more interesting at the top of the league for the neutral.

The main people I hear moaning about City's money is supporters of the bigger prem teams who now have another, even bigger rival for the silverware so less chance to win anything.

Agree about the Liverpool fans though

Lol, And believe me it amuses me that your delusional enough to believe that I do care.

There is no pretence at all, I couldn't care less what non city fans think of me or Man City.

Great article in The Manchester Evening News by a Manchester United fan who works for the paper

Manchester City buying glory? Now that's rich!

Quote:
No-one should forget it was the greed of United, who were instrumental, along with Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham in forming the Premier League, which led directly to where we are today.
DY get yourself over to the comments page and knock 'em Dead

The whole article is an interesting read for any City fan and sums up what blues have been saying on here for a while. Well done Stuart Brennan

I saw the match on monday in a pub in Ealing with my inlaws (utd fans) and the place absolutley erupted when the city goal went in.
