I'm enjoying this, even though it's pretty soapy. It's odd that Barry Pepper seems to be the only one doing a full-on Boston accent though.

It is very soapy, but Kinnear is very good as JFK (although I keep thinking the show would be more watchable with Matt Damon attached to Kinnear in every scene).
Katie Holmes is rather bland though.

Hey guys, really enjoying your comments

Did anybody catch the last episode? What did you think? You might be interested in seeing a clip of the next episode which you'll find here http://bit.ly/dI0m1L.

Looking forward to more replies!

Am watching the second ep, really enjoying it. Possibly see why the US channel didn't like it much though, they're not portrayed in the best light

Watching this now, upto ep5. Does anyone know if it's based on any particular book as the wife would like a read?

Really enjoying it. Am a bit of a fan of US presedential stuff and have seen the Martin Sheen series a couple of times. Lots of stuff in this that I didn't know, about JFK and the rest of the family. So far most of them come over as just being normal flawed people, but the father..... OMG!!!!!

Are the UK seeing two episodes at a time? Or will there be 8 two hour episodes?

History has been showing x2 eps at a time in a 2 hour slot. From the episode descriptions on Wikipedia, we're onto ep 5+6 next.

That's right, 4 parts, 2 hours each, part 3 episodes 5+6 are next...

Excellent, doesn't seem that I have missed any then! Almost did as the descpription for the first episode and the 2nd episode were identical. Looking forward to the third part.

Anyone know the exact objections to the series from the USA? Surely scripts and the like were approved before filming? I understand its not a massively flattering tribute, but surely his womanising was well known, the only objectionable thing I have seen so far is a vague connection to mobsters

Enjoyed the most recent episodes now that we're on to Cuban Missile Crisis, was gonna watch 13 Days tonight to maintain the theme. I've noticed that the music in the TV series seems awfully derivative of some of John Williams' cues for JFK (particularly the piano parts in anything dramatic).

Barry Pepper is the best thing in this - he really deserves to get more meaty character parts thrown his way, he's excellent.

He's still paying his dues (and all the other cast combined) for Battlefield Earth

Barry Pepper talks about the show and his role as Bobby here http://bit.ly/eCMLwR. Thought it might be of interest to you...

Hope you enjoy the finale! Let me know what you think!

Just watched the final episode, on the whole I enjoyed it and thought it interesting. I did feel that there was more story to be told though, rather than just a few snapshots of the most famous parts of their lives. Could easily have been twice as long

Two episodes in and I give this a "Jesus Wept" score of 9.

It's like they've invented a time machine and gone back to 1982 to make it. How can it be so recently made and so dated?

This is how I felt too - though I only saw the last half hour of episode 2... it really is too Dallasesque... which is kind of ironic. But it also reminded me of those terrible daytime TV biopics that they did of The Carpenters and The Monkees way back.

I will say though that I've never been keen on Barry Pepper before but he is quite good from what I saw... I wasn't sure it was him. But the rest is utter bobbins.
