I'm thoroughly enjoying the new album from The Pineapple Thief - Your Wilderness.

I've been really impressed with Blink 182's and Weezer's newest efforts. They manage to capture the fun and musicality that I enjoyed about them back in the 90's. Short, irreverent, catchy pop rock that's been perfect for the short burst of sunshine we've had in recent days.

Great week for garage rock wig out albums. Two genius albums... The best album since they reformed from Dinosaur Jr and a stonking new effort from thee ho seas. Can't wait to see them in two weeks.

Speaking of Dinosaur Jr, where has LouBarlow been hiding?

I'm not normally one for posting new music links, but the (official) download version of Hey! Hello! Too! dropped yesterday and it's fantastic.

They are a project featuring Ginger Wildheart on guitar with a bunch of female singers knocking out a superb pop-rock type album. Very mainstream for him/them.

Shop is here.

Can't find any official videos for this album, but here they are live.

Cheers. I liked some of their stuff a couple of years ago, plus I love the Wildhearts so will definitely check the new stuff out.

both are excellent, really enjoying them!

it's a bit of a hipsterish video, but none the less has a great version of one of the new songs and the 'Father Ted' song

Found a mint cd copy of James' One Man Clapping for 50p in a charity shop. Finally listening to it again 20 years after my TDK c60 unravelled.

Nice one Not everyone's cup of tea but I found X Ray Specs Germfree Adolescents recently in a charity shop, listening to that bought back some memories! Only just found out that Poly Styrene died in 2011

Agreed, it's an excellent album, not a bad track on it. That Shore has to be one of the saddest tracks ever recorded. The bonus disc with the very expensive Special Edition is excellent too.

Currently listening to the new Marillion album, FEAR. One of their best, I think.

I agree the DVD-Audio version is superb, just a shame they didn't include a 5.1 mix of the bonus disc. You've probably seen it but the acoustic version of "Tear You Up" by Soord is fantastic and I think I prefer it over the original.

Ryan Adams's new single Do You Still Love Me? is a terrific guitar/keyboard/vocal piece. I saw a video of the song live a few months ago and thought that the studio version might suffer, but, no it's equally brilliant.

Looking forward to the new album, Prisoner on 17th February.
