that was probably what you were supposed to think until ... you see Stacey text Ness who then turns to face a wide awake Smithy.

Oh, and the sat nav joke in the Royle Family trailer afterwards was

Just having a look at picking this series up on DVD as Christmas present for my dad and noticed Amazon and Play have it listed as released 7/12, ie. next monday!

How many episodes are in this series? Seems strange to release the dvd set before its even finished its terrestrial run (I seem to recall a series of 24 doing same thing few years ago prior to airing of season finale!!). Or maybe Amazon and Play have been misinformed about the release date.

I find the Nessa character hard to warm to, the stories of her past exploits are now reaching stupid levels of absurdity and her demeanour is one of being constantly annoyed.

Thought the second episode was funny, and I loved Smithy's annoyance with the curry situation.

the only thing that's died is the show, they should have stopped at Xmas as they planned, not that the Xmas special was anything to shout about. This series is Dire, and I'm a big fan of the first 2.

I'm fairly certain that the BBC technically aren't allowed to do that are they - they certainly shouldn't be allowed to.

That reeks of excessive profiteering. If they wanted to get the DVD in the shops before Xmas they should have scheduled the series to start a few weeks earlier.

Yep, I saw it in Fopp today so I know it's out there - I just think that the BBC are being a bit naughty. They should only sell DVDs of programmes that have already been broadcast - the licence fee isn't intended to fund programming that gets sold via retail in the first instance.

And in these times when the rest of the media is clearly out to get them at every opportunity they really don't help themselves sometimes do they?
