The new series of Ice Road Truckers!

Hello guys!

First thing, thank you to Colin for allowing me to post this up.

I'm working with History (no longer the History Channel) to let people know about some of their biggest autumn shows.

The first show up is Ice Road Truckers, which starts tomorrow at 9pm.

Anyone a fan? It would be unfair to give too much away, but this series sees the return of Hugh and Alex, plus the serie's first female trucker, Lisa Kelly.

We've got some clips from the first episode already up on the History and Ice Road Truckers Facebook Pages which can be found here:

www.facebook.com/historyuk
www.facebook.com/iceroadtruckersuk

We should also be running some competitions in the weeks to come to.

So....what are your thoughts? Will the dynamic change with a girl in the show?

Rachael

Tried the planner on Sky's website the other day but it was all over the place for IRT, wanted the new series in HD, anyway it looks like its been sorted as this thread has prompted me to look again and its now set up!

Ive only watched a few of the last few series so cant say I know the ins and outs but its a great show and wish it more success this season, especially now I can watch it in HD

Thanks Rachael!

Can we have a sweep on how many times "Hugh is hauling the biggest load of the season" is mentioned?

i liked the 1st series but found the 2nd one all a bit... meh... really.

I was a bit the same. There's only so many times watching the ice cracking with some truck going over you can take. Was very repetitive but then again I guess the job is.
Already set up for this series as it's that slight thought of something may happen.

Glad to hear there are fans here!

There's some definite changes in dynamic this season, Hugh and Alex are no longer the big guys on the scene now they're in Alaska.

There's a great clip on Facebook of Hugh battling the virtual ice road simulator in the Fairbanks office here.

I can't be the only person who wants to try that simulator out.

What do you guys think?

Sorry, this has never caught my interest.
There are some series I like that are in a similar vein, ie deadliest catch and trawler men, but iceroad truckers has never done it for me.

oh there is a worse one......timbermen or treefellers or something

Hello Hazel, it's a shame you don't like it, but wouldn't it be boring if we all had the same tastes?

We are also working with Crime and Investigation Channel - For those with an interest in crime documentaries, have you tried out History’s sister channel, the Crime & Investigation Network? On tonight is the first installment of Living With Murder, a series of emotionally charged documentaries which take a sensitive look at what happens to someone
after a loved one has died and how they deal with the aftermath.

Does that appeal to you? If so, you can watch it tonight at 9pm.

Chec out the C&I Facebook page here

Did anyone catch Ice Road Truckers on Thursday? Any thoughts?

First ep seemed to focus a bit too much on the fella making the first trip of the season, was nice to see Hugh and Alex though. What happened to Lisa ?, put her in the credits and dont mention her at all in ep 1

Ah.......She'll be making her appearance in Episode 2, travelling over the Arctic Ocean. I'll put up a link to a preview clip once it's up.

Does anyone like the more historical stuff on History? If so, catch the Roman Invasion of Britain on at 6pm, tonight and tomorrow. Check the History Facebook for a clip.

Found it to be far too repetitive to watch. It made a good one off series but there's not alot of mileage in it for me .

Ax Men has been in my planner since I saw the ad the other week. Will it be with the same logging crew`s as last season ?

Loved axe men. Bad enough working in an industry that is/was going down the tubes but to have your hometown flooded out at the same time.
Is it coming to Five?

Ax Men is on tonight at 9!

You'll see the return of Pihl and Browning, but we have a couple of new crews in. To get a look at Rygaard, the new guys, check out this video on the Facebook

Who was your favourite from last season, Pihl or Browning?

Pihl. Dwayne and his son. The Jay Browning operation almost seemed corporate in comparison to the other crews.

Hey, did you watch it last night?

Those crews do not feature in this season. Crews change from season to season, much like the change of drivers in Ice Road Truckers.

Speaking of which,IRT is on tonight! Hugh and Alex are on the road with Carlile safety instructors. Does Hugh behave and do what he's told? Uhmmm...no.
