The Walking Dead (u.s. pace & no spoilers from the comic please)

Who said that? I didnt. My fave all time comedy is Friends and you cant get tamer than that. I was replied to Shingster who said breaking bad fans said it was full of flange and bad language. I was just pointing out that it wasnt.

Are we on about other boards then, because I can't recall anyone ever saying that in the BB thread here.

And while me and Simon are having to explain ourselves I'll just point out that my original comment was just a facetious remark about how it seems impossible these days to have a forums discussion about a new show without someone comparing it unfavourably to Breaking Bad!

If this show had been picked up by HBO then that taboo would probably have been broken within the first five minutes!

If they followed the comic they wouldn't need a writing team as the thing's effectively a bloody storyboard (as are all comics). They seem to have ditched that idea several episodes ago though.
I have the feeling that the comic has been a launchpad for the series but they're not going to bother following its story.

Really loving the show, fantastic stuff, bit gutted there's only six episodes though tbh.

Blu-Ray is a definite purchase for me.

Darabont loves to take a book (now a comic) and do whatever the hell he wants for the ending. His fiddling is never as good as the original material. Which is a shame because he does the rest of the adapting so well.

I think that's an exaggeration, the film IS the source material as Darabont barely touched the dialogue or plot beyond amalgamating all the warden's into one (which improves the story because you have someone to boo).
